i just checked the jw.org website and noticed an article about the jw response to ebola.
as i suspected, the entire focus was on alerting and educating jw members about ebola.just like in other disaster situations, the jw organization almost exclusively assists it's own members, ignoring the general public.
it seems their main concern is keeping their members healthy so they can continue to spread the jw message door to door!!!

last year's "letter from the governing body" (on jw.org) notes:.
"last year, the memorial attendance was 19,241,252. how encouraging to see so many honor jehovah and jesus christ by attending the most important meeting of the year for gods people!".
that's about 12 million or so non-jw's who go to the memorial only, a good % of whom are evidently at least somewhat sympathetic or curious about the jw's, but for various reasons have no desire to commit to the religion.. .
Is this a description of an average American JW congregation:
JW congregations are made up of life's losers, eccentrics, and essentially simple-minded souls.
I do not recognize this from my own country or even the many congregations I have attended meetings when visiting abroad.
This seems like a very judging and condescending comment.
i am having a discussion at work with the jw's.
should you spank a child to make them understand or do you reason with them.
they both agree with spanking.
In my country is simply not an option because it is illegal... and never got spanked as a JW child in the 70s and never spanked my children as a witness parent either
the wtbts has produced another uplifting video for our precious jw youngsters!.
lesson 12: caleb and sophia visit bethel.
here's a fun clip from the video at 0:25".
I guess witness elders have bible knowledge and have some skills on shepherding etc based on how they have been taught... compared to an average non-witness window washer...

It would be quite sad if no one did washing, laundry and all common chores... Why do you always look down on such jobs? In our congregation only two did cleaning.... The rest had "normal jobs" like working in a tv station, government offices (even negiotiating specific terms with the EU in his field of occupation) and other jobs... Each job is valuable in its own way.. Oops I forgot, i live in Scandinavia and a cleaning job here is paid with some 25 dollars an hour... at least.
a question for those that still attend meetings.... how many use tablets or ipads in your hall?.
i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.
just curious....
That ink thing is definitely a myth. Also the emphasis on using tablets vs paper is not as environmental friendly as one might think. Computers and companies affiliated to them are responisible for 5 per cent of all pollution, whereas pollution caused by the paper industry is just a very small fraction of this. Besides, forests are renewable.
gb member and so called "annointed" person geoffry jackson is caught red handed on video doing some worldly dancing and sexual gyrating (they have spoken against such manner of dancing on several occasions) with a woman who is not his wife!!!
i can only imagine what they do off camera now!!!.
i would not have even considerd doing such a thing on the dance floor with a woman, especially if it was not my wife, and i'm not even one of the so called "annointed" smh!!!
I think it was refreshing to see a glimpse of these suit-dressed men loosening up a bit. Let them have some fun...
