Frenchy,
I thought MDS had the answers? I'll be awaiting your "report".

MDS,
What do the initials stand for this time? I know you used to go by "thebittertruth" among others. Are you trying to get us interested in buying "The Report"? You talked about amazing special knowledge before, a few months ago on this forum, dangling a special knowledge carrot in front of us. I'd just like to know if and/or when you will spit out what you really want to tell us, if anything.

AhHah,
What I posted was a tad tongue-in-cheek, but what the hey? I've been interested in reading Sitchin's books lately. I just finished "Genesis Revisited" where I pulled some of those rather unorthodox ideas from. Very interesting concepts he presents. There's a series of books he wrote called the "Earth Chronicles". I've yet to read them, but they sound fascinating. A different way to look at creation to say the least.

Here's a scenario:
What if we were created by humanoids from another planet. Maybe they were so intellegent and powerful, that early humans thought they were gods. Maybe through the centuries, things got distorted so much that religions were created to try to make sense out our being here.
Could it be that we were created as slaves and then at some point left to our own devices? After all, Adam was put here to till the earth according to the bible.(Gen. 2:15) If this is the case, then dicussion about religion is all for nought. All religions could be myths handed down by people to try to control people and to have some sort of explanation for "why are we here?" If this is the case, then religion is the biggest "snare and racket"(I hate quoting J.F. Rutherford!) ever to be perpetuated by mankind.
Maybe if we were governed by laws based on some sort of standard decent behavior, and there was no religion at all, we would be far better off. No religious wars, no more "I have the truth and you don't" attitudes.
Did I even touch on the subject?
Tom
hello friends,.
in a thread over at witnesses.net entitled "society bracing for law suits" fellow jw's are taking swipes at ray franz.
not too long ago, while i was still under the wt spell i also would have similarily spoken abusively of ray.
Hi Martini.
Yes, I too remember the uninformed rumormongering
perpetrated by JW's. I remember thinking of Ray Franz as an evil, satanic anti-God apostate that tried to take over the WTS or something to that effect. I remember seeing ads in the paper for 1-800-why1914, thinking: I want to see what it's about, but it's probably nothing but lies. Truly uninformed, I was.
when you wore the "rose-coloured" glasses, what did u like about it?
post anything that comes to mind.
i sort of miss giving talks.
Red,
Oh you poor sisters! Seriously. Showing up at the hall like a bunch of June Cleaver Wannabees! God, I'm embarrassed for you.
Girl Power! Girl Power! Girl Power!
I would die laughing If I went to the hall and saw a sister chewing out an elder or c.o., and telling him that she is sick and tired of doing the dirty work. She then thrusts a mop into his soft and uncalloused hands. Get to work, dammit!
...for the average jw as i see them out in door to door work.
i shake my head and think; they just don't know.
or maybe they do, but are in a dilemma similar to thousands if not millions right now.
...for the average JW as I see them out in door to door work. I shake my head and think; they just don't know. Or maybe they do, but are in a dilemma similar to thousands if not millions right now. Their's is a belief system controlled by a corporation, or several as I now understand it. How could they let this go on? How did I let it go on? Fear. Wanting to do the right thing, but there's the fear. All or nothing.
I can't give enough thanks to my family for sticking with me, for other xJW's sharing their experiences, the internet, you people on this board, and forums like this one, several books I've read, and I'll give myself a little credit for having enough balls to act on my conscience.

I miss almost nothing. I never became close to anyone. The congs. in my area are very cliquish and cold to those that had "unbelieving" mates. I constantly had to cover for those who didn't show for their service meeting parts, and I hated public speaking. In hindsight, I don't blame them so much for not wanting to do their assignments. But it would have been nice for them to warn me. The CO's were brutal sob's that didn't give a rip about anyone personally. They just wanted good numbers in their territory. They threatened to remove me as m.s. if I didn't bring up my hours. Oh, this topic is about what I LIKED as a JW, sorry!
I will say however, that coming in contact with the bible with the JW's in my early 20's helped me with my morals. Of course I didn't know at the time that there were so many strings attached.
Let's put it this way; I'm glad I'm the hell away from the WTS.

ahhah .
i did not want to complicate paths thread.
although this is directed to you, ahhah, naturally i welcome comments by all who participate here.. in reference to a portion of what i posted to seven:.
I'm starting to come to the conclusion that there is no God. At least the God of the bible. More and more it seems like a myth. What a sick personage Jehovah is, killing and maiming people. His orders, according to the O.T. Millions of people brutally wiped out, by God himself! Let alone all those that suffer and are murdered at the hands of fellow humans. What a sick and twisted thing to allow to happen, if there is a God.
Maybe we're just like the animal kingdom, killing and being killed. Only with our "advanced" intellegence, we can do it in more inventive ways, with agenda's attached, or just for the fun of it.
very interesting comments in this thread at witnet.
the original poster suggests how it was perceived by some to be shocking that dan sydlik (gb member) used the word "jack-ass" in a talk.. but as pointed out by bodhissatva in the following post, that it was who dan sydlik referred to as "jack-asses" that was the sad thing.. brother sydlik was saying that bethel especially needs people with skills, certifications, and qualifications.
to make this point, he said (in his characteristic booming voice), "of course, any jackass can swing a hammer.".
Who's the jackasses now?
Those who close their eyes to the fraud that the WTS is. I'm not referring to those who are struggling because of family members, just those who simply won't open their minds to the colossal botch of a religion the WTS is.
I remember all of what you guys say. Looks like once again, the WTS is doing a 180. How many 180's & 360's does it take for someone to realize that the old light wasn't light at all. Now I know how informed ones looked at me when I was a JW.
