Hey Red,
If Frenchy should decide to give ME the horse, I'll trade it to you for a new dirt bike. I want a new KTM 400EXC. Thanks. This bike costs about $7500.00. Frenchy's vintage knight's horse must be worth at least that much.

Frenchy,
We'll never live down the "asking for directions" thing, will we. It was Moses' fault I tells ya!

Hi, Chris and welcome!
I can sympathize with your situation, it's similar to mine. My wife was never a JW, so I had an "unbelieving" mate. I was treated differently because of that. Many JW's were under the assumption that I was a JW when I married my wife, which isn't true. Most if not all of the participants at this forum are at odds with the Society and not for reasons of immorality.
Anyway, this is a great forum for people like you. Many on this board are well informed and very knowledgable. I hope all works out well for you.

there was an awake article, i believe last year that basically gave the green light to go ahead with ahead with things that once were pagan, but have since lost their pagan connotations.
of course, this was left up to your conscience, and the usual matter of not stumbling your brothers was brought up.. over on witnet, one member mentions an inquiry to the society regarding "toasting" at weddings etc, and they basically left this to the individuals to decide.. now, i've never seen anything wrong with stuff like this myself, and this whole "pagan" thing has never made sense to alot of people.
i mean, doesn't everything really have some "pagan" origin?
It just goes to show that if you want to think for yourself and speak about it, you can't be a JW. JW's have to wait until the WTS says it's OK, or that it's a conscience matter. God forbid we "run ahead" of the org. by "toasting".

For those that observe, Happy Thanksgiving!

i have been curious why the jw's and other cults claim that the bible does not support the notion of the christ as divine (god).
can anyone offer an explanation?
my reading of the texts brings me to that conclusion.
Man! Where's MDS when you need him!
Tom
would someone care to give me their definition of an apostate and what it means to them?
I'll also be completely honest.
Apostasy, I believe means to renounce one's faith. My faith used to be JW. I renounced the JW faith, so in that context, I'm an apostate. At the time I left, however, I didn't renounce God, Christ, or the bible. So, in that context, I'm not an apostate. Nowadays, my faith in the bible is waning. Maybe I'm an almostapostate.

MDS,
I called into question the validity of the Hebrew scriptures on a previous post that you ignored. Will you please address that? Can't have a further conversation about answering your questions scripturally until you prove the accuracy and legitimacy of the "old testament".
Tom
gods people.
this is in response to a question asked by martini on the thread reflections, page 4. for those who have not read it, the question is: is it true that the israelites were historically jehovah's chosen people...the israelites make the wts with all it's "warts" look like saints... or are we to deduce from this that jehovah is the kind of god that could accept and work with such wayward people today as he did in the past?
my response was, in a nutshell: yes, the israelites were gods chosen people.
MDS,
In my opinion, Frenchy was just trying to decipher your purpouse when he said what you quoted above. He is right, I believe.
You've been dangling this "prophetic" carrot in front of us for months, only to try to lead us to your "report". You keep beating around the bush. If the damn "report" is so stinking important, post it for all to see.

Simon,
I guess MDS is afraid of getting his ass kicked! Pardon me while I go eat weiners with sauerkraut.
Hey MDS, Tell me when you get your money. Oh, I forgot, Hank, er, God won't allow that.
