thinking of you
sounds like you're just going to have to say please leave me be Im not up to any shepherding visits. Stop going in service altogether and meetings. Cite discouragement and stress as a reason if you must.
Dont push your husband to fade with you... if he's like mine, it will backfire. and we all know how that can turn out.
Will be looking out for your post! xx

how do you cope with the stress of fading?
by brainmelt ini'm really struggling with it.
i've been learning the ttatt for the past 6 months now and i've been inadvertantly fading - either one of us or the children have had coughs/colds/flu/chicken pox/stress over the past 3 months which has meant we've missed a lot of meetings and field service with good reason.
we've only been out in service twice this year, so far no ones mentioned it to us but i'm waiting for our group overseer to bring it up anytime soon.

breathe in, breathe out..
be careful what you share with your husband or despite your trust in him keeping private conversations private, you may find his WT trained conscience gets the better of him... thats whats happened with me.
I am kind of relieved, kind of sad. I have gone from fading to faDED in under 24 hours. Not going to ANY meetings now, because Im avoiding any awkward conversations.
edited to add - just reread your post, sounds like your hubby is even less of a real dub than mine... i reckon if you keep fading, he'll follow you. No need to mention anything yet. Let him bring it up.

Fish in the sand and dove leaving the WT
by dissonance_resolved inso i've been pondering that there must be quite a few active jws out there who are conscious/awakened/lurking, but it's so risky to ask questions to find out they are.
i'm sure this isn't anywhere in the watchtower, but i've read that early christians had the secret symbol of the fish to help identify friends, i.e.
drawing a fish in the sand would secretly identify someone as being a christian.

LURKING JW: Thinking of leaving? Learn from my experience.
by SnakesInTheTower in"mental wondering in the wilderness"... uh oh.... it's a long post from snakes.... lol.
yep... i think that is the best way to describe where i am at in life right now.
if you have read my past posts (mostly in the private section) you know some of my history as a life-long (now former) witness.. i have been away from the jw religion, for all intents and purposes, since dec. 06, though it was not until sept 07 that i stopped attending meetings.

I like this idea. I am lonely. I use an ipad though so no watchtower to draw on.
Lets reopen this discussion in the members area.... and come up with something easy to draw and easy to explain away....

BROTHERS & SISTERS - READ THE BROCHURE!
by The Searcher injesus always used illustrations to help people reason on the import of what he was saying.
here is an illustration followed by a reality;.
imagine that your heart went out to all those poor people who suffered when fukushima blew up, so much so, that when an internationally renowned charity asked for donations to help those in need, you donated $5000 to the cause.

First of all Old Hippie, Im sure the call for money at circuit assemblies varies around the world - our assembly hall is fully paid for also but we still get the deficits announced. Have a look at an old thread called Circuit Accounts Servants Confesses how the SCAM WORKS!! It was by a poster who'd actually been on the accounts department and knows how it was all worked out. Like I said, Im sure it varies around the world somewhat, and that was an old post. No one is suggesting that these halls are free.
In relation to the Katrina/ Insurance thing. Perhaps a more appropriate thing for the Work Crew Team leader would be to encourage the recipient of all that voluntary labour to use some or all of their insurance cheque to help the volunteers out with their expenses, rather than give the estimated cost to the WTS. Or not suggest anything at all, just know that someone who is a brother or sister will do the right thing, and let them exercise their conscience in the matter!
Marking this thread for future reference.
