Any Christmas song by the late Karen Carpenter. What a set of pipes she had. Especially "Home for the Holidays." The radio stations and malls always play that one. Her voice was awesome.

What was the worst outfit you wore?
by outbackaussie inremember going to conventions during the mid 80's?
sisters all dolled up in lolly-wrapper dresses of sparly taffeta with balloon sleeves and brothers strutting about with shiny grey siuts with narrow lapels and black leather ties?
ooooh what a look that was!

Was it normal to have so many meetings?
by JH inhow many meetings a week, do you think we should have had in order to be reasonable and not overdone?
maybe 30 or 40 years ago, when woman didnt work, or when life was a little easier, that all these meetings every 2 days was ok, but today with life being so stressful, and with all the time it takes commuting, is it normal to still have so many meetings.
nothing changed in the last 50 years as far as meetings go.

No, it's not normal to have so many meetings. Although 4 of the meetings are incorporated into 2 different meeting sessions, having to remember to study for all that stuff got to be too much. I wasn't a JW then, but didn't some of the assembly days last 12-14 hours? Can someone confirm this please?

How long are people remembered?
by joelbear in.
unless you are famous for something how long are you really remembered?.
maybe you are remembered at most by your grandchildren, but then your presence in the universe is gone.. so, really, what difference does it make whether you die in your 40's or your 70's, your memory simply lingers another 30 years at most.

Life is a precious, wonderful thing. I get up every morning thanking God for my life. I lost my grandmother this year and it was dreadful for me. Her last years weren't very good, and wanting to keep her around was just me being selfish. I will remember her though always, and I was lucky enough to have her parents around some of my life. What's so really great is that I look like my grandmother and my great grandmother. Now I know what I am going to look like when I am 85 years old!

New opinion on Memorials
by ChileanRick inhere in chile, when the times of memorial its near, you can see a lot of brothers and sister buying new clothes for that ocassion.
so, when you are attending the memorial meeting, you can feel nobody is listening really.
everybody is looking how are the others clothed, who is a visitor, and when the meeting gets and end, nobody is really interested in other ones, but only in its friends.

Don't you think they should change the name of the Memorial to "The Night We Watch the Bread and Wine Go By?"
