Why aren't congregations much bigger in size?
by JH in.
like that, they wouldn't need so many elders and ms. they would have plenty of brothers to read and pass the mic.. no where in the bible do they mention how big or small a congregation should be.
if ever one day they have a hard time forming enough ms and elders, wouldn't it be simpler to just make congregations larger?

My former congregation has dwindled in numbers not because of people leaving, but everyone moving away to other parts of the city. I remember we used to have 80 to 90 people at the meeting and they're lucky if they have 60.

How much control can I have over nephews and nieces?
by jwfacts inmy sister and cousin both have 1 year old children, and are both devoted jws.
i would like to help the children grow up to be normal, balanced people, but as the crazy uncle don't think i will have any say.
i am afraid that if i ever even raise religion with them i will be cut off from seeing them.

Loving them despite their parents is what I do to my sibling's kids. His wife is an A plus snob and and I have learned to ignore it.

Well, I Guess That's It!
by luna2 inan old jw friend of mine stopped by this morning to "encourage" me.
actually, she had to call me on her cell, because i don't have a doorbell and i didn't hear her knock.
she asked me to come down so she could talk to me....and i told her that i didn't think it would be a good idea as i'm planning to turn my da letter in soon....so, no, i wouldn't come down.

C.T. Russell: a confirmed Pittsburgh Free Mason
by kid-A inthere is overwhelming evidence that the spiritual founder of the wts, c.t.
russell, was a prominent free mason in the pittsburgh community.
he went so far as to declare: "i am a free mason" in several of his lectures.

Russell's grave is an interesting place. Just tell a JW that he's buried next to a pyramid and their eyes pop out. Today's Russellites go out of their way to differentiate themselves saying he would have nothing to do with today's Watchtower Society. Funny, neither do most of us on this board!
