Vagina Monologues
by wonderwoman77 ini was reading in the queer as folk thread and it was mentioned about how women can be oppressed sexually.
well this play is about how women should not be oppressed and how we should be comfortable with all parts of our bodies.
i recommend that every woman see this play.

Time travel- if you could...would you?
by freedom96 ini was recently looking at a picture that showed my city almost a hundred years ago.
i started trying to imagine the scene, but in color, and what it would have been like.. they say if time travel was possible, you must be careful, for what you do could alter the future.. though i know it is not possible, i think it would be fantastic to do so.. so, would you do it if you could?
what time era would you go to?.

Anyone remember the TV show from the 1960's - "Time Tunnel" - that was a great show (although I watched the reruns). I was always fascinated by the premise from an early age, although I knew then it wasn't possible. If I could and know I'd be back next week for another episode - surely!

Have You Been Divorced?
by Outaservice indivorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.
probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.
possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.

No, I dated several guys while I was in the borg. I am sure there were some good guys around, but they were gobbled up by other ladies. The guys I dated were so childish and didn't know how to treat a lady. I really don't think it was their fault, as I don't think they knew any different. I did marry some years later after leaving the WT and if I ever find myself alone again, I am just going to fornicate.

Mark Fuhrman Hammers Elder on Abuse
by TR injust got done listening to the mark fuhrman show.
his guest was a lawyer that handles abuse victims that are roc, mormon and 'hovahs.
the groundwork for what happens to 'hovah abuse victims was well laid by the lawyer when furhman took a call from a 'hovah elder named "mike".. poor mike.

I think Mark Fuhrman got some good press coverage when he wrote that book about the Martha Moxley murder. I think I heard that book laid the groundwork for further investigation of Ethel Kennedy's nephew ultimately being convicted of Martha Moxley's murder.

Since it was the 20th anniversary of her death yesterday, it will probably be playing on some cable station soon. I saw it about a month ago. I hadn't seen since it was first broadcast in 1989. Very sad story. Karen had a wonderful voice...what a tragic loss of life.

The Reinstatement Process & How It Works
by minimus inpreviously, we considered what might go on at a judicial meeting.now, let's see what the reinstatement process entails.
let's use the example of fornication.
you have been disfellowshipped for this sin and now you want to seek reinstatement.

I knew someone who went back several times seeking reinstatement, each time he was turned down for some stupid reason. After the third time, he finally gave up and said he was going elsewhere for worship. He's now a minister of a big church in Florida.

I try really hard not to curse, but it seems lately when I get in disagreements I use the f word and I just hate it. So I am counting to 10 before I say anything!
