Should WOMEN Serve in Combat???
by JT infor anyone who knows me, i have always been a very strong support for women's right to do as they please in life, but today we had a very interesting discussion about this issue>.
this is to me one area where i wonder is it really the best thing to do, not so much because of how we in the west perhaps view women in positions and power, but how women are often times viewed by those that we maybe at war with.
culturally as men we have been conditioned to protect the woman- in fact in almost all cultures that i can think of that basic mindset is held by most men i would dare say-.

That I had to bend over backwards for my salvation, that I "may be" saved in the day of Jah's anger. Things like that...no wonder I suffered from depression while I was a JW.

What are some of your favorite urban legends?
by BQE inmine is the story of a lady who was witnessing alone in an apartment building, and aparently she knocked on the door of some rapists/murderers/drug dealers......whatever......she was "saved" by two angels, only visible to the attackers, that accompanied her on that visit.
.
or how about the one where a householder had his finger on the trigger of a gun and was just about to pull it when.....all of a sudden....out of nowhere (drumroll please) a witness knocked on his door and offered him "the promise of everlasting life in the new system of thingstm"!!

I remember the story about a JW woman who was on a business trip in Chicago. She was nervous being alone in a big city, and quickly got to her hotel. As she got on the hotel elevator, a group of African-American men got on the elevator with her. It was then one of them said "hit the floor", which she did. But she went to the literal floor and not the floor button on the elevator pad. She later learned this was Lionel Richie's entourage and he sent her flowers saying "thanks for the greatest laugh."

My comments were not so much reflective about Michael Moore, because he's not an actor, he makes documentaries. I thought "Roger and Me" was brilliant and I haven't seen the other one "Bowling for Columbine." I am talking about the actors who get on their soapbox at award ceremonies and in general. It happens all the time. And they don't know what reality is...
