Survivor I was my favorite. Perhaps because the novelty of it, now all these unreality shows are getting on my nerves. That Big Brother 4 is absolutely horrid. I watched it once and turned it off. My step son thinks "everyone's cool." I think everyone's cooky.

It's a Small World After All
by Prisca inhow many of you came to this board, only to find others you knew when you were witnesses?.
perhaps you didn't know the other person had left.
or you knew they'd left, but had lost touch, only to be reunited here?

Mouthy was my room mate at the Ex JW Convention in 1994. I guess that counts also!

Big Tex, cruzanheart and I went to the same KH about 20 years ago. I remember working in service with cruzan and remember some of the talks Big Tex gave at the ministry school. I also remember cruzan playing the piano at our meetings. They moved and some 16 years later, I located them again on this board. What a blessing it has been to reconnect with such nice folks.

FLORIDA MAN BEATS HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION GETS SUED FOR LEGAL FEES
by Yerusalyim inthe retired marine that took on the home owners association for the right to fly his american flag won the case against them and earned the right to fly his flag.

Someone got me started on homeowners associations. Two years ago we bought a home in a nice neighborhood with a liberal homeowners association. Not many problems, but no one ever went to the meetings (held them during the day at work) and and then they elected some old fart who went driving around the neighborhood spotting problems. Colors of mailboxes, leaving your trash cans out passed a certain hour on trash day. This woman, whom I'll call "Punitive Peggy", made some peoples lives miserable. Then 911 happened and everyone started flying their flags. PP had fits (they flap, she even had the nerve to say it messed with the neighborhood's feng shui.) Then I found out PP was a JW or claimed to be a JW. She told me one day she had "issues" with our flagpole. I told her she had more issues than a stack of Old Awakes!

The Food Network recently came to our town and filmed a segment at an El Chico Restaurant that we frequent. It should air sometime during the November sweeps. Do November sweeps count on a culinary network?

Thanks Shutterbug. We met at cruzanheart/Big Tex's house in July. It was great to meet you and your moniker perfectly describes you. It's great meeting people at different apostafests. Next month, I'll be in PA and get to see mouthy again. She's a great laugh and so warm and loving. And when she tells those stories about being the borg with her London accent, I wanted to roll on the floor with laughter.

Thanks Nickey,
This'll be my last post, basically because it's time to go home. I have learned from this and I won't be going on the Internet at night very much (I'm on all day at work). He got my work number because he knew where I worked and there's my phone # in the staff directory. I won't be meeting up with him, even if it's a homecoming for his school and in a public place. I'll be traveling in his area of the country anyway and not going to "drop" in. (Although part of me wants to for getting even's sake. But I am afraid he wouldn't take that too well.) I don't think he's crazy, just afraid of getting caught talking to a woman or women. I am definitely letting him alone. Throughout this thread, my venting has actually helped get over this. I am not going to let this jerk bother me anymore...

This WAS definitely him, as he called me by name. Earlier this summer his older daughter was doing some research on the computer, and he asked me that night not to im because it may be his daughter and she would probably not know what to do with the instant message. So I didn't, and then he says his daughter had gone off to college. However, we had a 3 year history of congenial instant messages. I am not contacting him anymore via the instant message, no matter if he instant messages me or not. I e-mailed him this morning and said I wouldn't, so I assume he won't either.
Rayzor - definitely the lesson is to take these internet relationships with a grain of salt. You may know this person, but if you get too emotionally attached, like I did, you will get hurt.
It's sort of different here on jw.com, I have met many of these people in person and have had a good rapport with everyone. The thing was, we had plans to meet next year when I was visiting his home state. I was going to visit his school during homecoming. I won't be doing that either.
Shutterbug - he has a wife. We have both spoken about our families. I know his kids names, etc.
