  A tribute to Moose

  our basset hound moose died this morning.

  he was only 2 1/2 years old but he had addison's disease.

  something caused internal bleeding and he went very quickly, which was merciful.

  So sorry to hear about your loss. What a precious little dog. I am crying as I read this. At least he was loved during his all-too-short stay on Planet Scott.

  Commenting at the Meetings...

  driving down the road yesterday, i got this flash of bad memory in my brain hardrive about commenting at the meetings, especially the wt.

  i think back to all the squirming those poor children did at the meeting.

  now, i remember, i was internally squirming much of the time.

I think back to all the squirming those poor children did at the meeting. Now, I remember, I was internally squirming much of the time. I remember the same old ladies commenting. Every now and then I would comment, but I was always trying to crack a joke in my comments. It was so annoying to the guy conducting the study.

  BOOKSTORE INCIDENT

  as you all know by now, i work in a bookstore in the religion section.

  (i also shelve the philosophy and metaphysics sections.).

  while straightening the bibles i was approached by a lady customer who seemed perplexed.

  I always wondered why the Catholic Bible had Maccabees and the Protestant version didn't. Then I read that the Protestants didn't think it was inspired by God...or am I wrong?

  How did you hide things?

  for those of you who had some evil in you, how did you hide the things that you didn't want your parents or fellow jws to find?.

  i used to hide porn magazines under the carpet in my bedroom, and i had a gutted vcr that i used to hide my rap tapes (along with other things i can't remember).

  has done so for years, and because of this, i know this elder a little too.

  not that we are close friends now, but when we were witnesses in the 1990's, we were friends with him and his wife.

  they had three children, all fully grown now, and had been married about thirty years.

  I remember several years back, a really sweet sister in my congregation, her sister had terminal cancer. While there were well meaning people who came to help, two women in particular starting putting the moves on her husband BEFORE this woman had even passed. My friend couldn't understand why anyone would want her brother-in-law, he was no "catch" as she said. While these two women didn't get their hooks in him, later that year he met a woman and married her...she wasn't even a JW! He told me he had been married to a JW; he was going to see how the other half lived.

  What are your favourite free computer apps? Media Players, Office ...

  i just got a new computer and am setting it up and wondering what suggestions/reviews anyone can give for computer applications other then the traditional microsoft ones that come with the computer.

  i have a ton more ram now (going from 256 to 2gb) and can do a few more things then i could before (like something other then running the os).. has anyone tried the openoffice.org suite?

  i'd also like a media player other then windows media player, any suggestions?

  NEWS---JW's are now telemarketing--True Story

  my uncle ( a very sweet man) is practically confined to a wheelchair... in recent years he has developed a renued emphasis on all things jdubery.

  because of his poor health, he has a phone ministry from his home in the texas panhandle.

  there are even a few other witnesses that have joined him in this.

  There was actually a demonstration of this at a convention years ago. I also know they called people who lived in gated communities, they also sent tracts via mail. There was a man at our KH who couldn't go out in service and this is how he counted time. He actually help start some studies via this initial correspondence. It amazes me to this day.
