they sent paris hilton back to jail.

as i have expressed on here many time, paris hilton is my least favorite of the hollywood people.

so, seeing her escorted from the court to the police car like a common criminal, while she yelled for her mother, ...... .

Going to jail to serve a sentence is one thing but having been released form jail it is not fair to then send Hilton back to jail. And all because the LA law court and the sheriff can't get their act together. Don't they have phones in America?

Their act of incompetence has caused her a lot more grief than was necessary. People that are pleased to see her suffer will welcome this but it not a just and fair way to run a penal system.

It is the sort of blunder we have come to expect from simple minded people like Bush. Perhaps incompetence is a requirement for holding official office in the USA? Which makes me wonder who the real criminals are?

Vinny - I find your posts entertaining and amusing but unfortunately not educational. I do detect a sense of need in you. A need to be understood, noticed, loved, admired and a desperation for attention at any price.

Perhaps you might take time to consider Little Toe's modest posts. He is a seeker of truth. His mission is not to defend or refute but to arrive at the correct understanding of the universe that we inhabit.

In any case I am glad the thought police did not stop this thread as it has been packed with uncontroled emotional outbursts, contradiction, argument and comedy.

for me it was a combination of things over a long period of time.

being raised as a witness, you do things by rote.

but when you see sooooooooo many watchtower inconsistencies, mistreatment of the "brothers", elder abuse, and simple lack of love, it begins to make you start seriously thinking.

Turns out, there is no Truth. We build around us the world that suits us and each world is as valid as the next.

As they say - it is all an illusion.

And - No I am serious - no illegal substances were used in this reality check.

A lot of Christians are now plastic Christians. They are similar to the real thing but without the downside. They are warmer and easier to maintain.

Some say they lack character and are just an imitation of the originals and should never be mixed with the real thing.

Personaly, I thing they are better and a big improvement...hold on... I am off topic here .......................I was talking about windows!

i must admit, i hate the word and concept of evolution.

however, to give the 'devil his due', there.

has been an interesting development in the fight against aids.

It does see that there are always a section of the population who are immune to new certain diseases.

What also helps in the fight against AIDS is the evolution of the condom.

If different races are good, why aren't different religions good?

the way i see it, if the jw's say that there is only 1 good religion and it's theirs, then it's like saying that out of all the different races of people on earth, just one race is pure.

this sounds racist.. i find it beautiful to see all kinds of people and races and languages, so why not different ways of adoring god?.

I am so sorry for you other folks standing in line for vinny, waiting to get your SPANKS over with. (I think Almost Atheist is next in line), but alan f wants one of his spanks FIRST.

These are the words of one of Gods spokesmen who has mastered in Bible study.

If this is the level of intellect attainable by a person who believes in the concept of God enough to try and prove his belief to others - my guess is that atheism will flourish!

if i had to be tied down i would say disfellowshipping.

totally unnecessary and i really think it spans itself into a lot of other wt policies/mindsets.

These are all good points that you have made on this thread and they generally amount to one thing..

The JW religion robs people of their most precious possession - their mind. Life should be an adventure of discovery that leads to awareness and understanding.

Our minds should be free to enquire, accept, rejecting and grow. This happens in meaningful careers which the JW religion attempts to outlaw. It happens through the books we are free to choose to read that interest us because of where we are on life's journey. It happens through the people we are free to associate with and learn from.

Being a JW means closing closing the mind to reason and a surrender of all mental freedom. It is a religion that imprisons the mind, suppresses freedom of thought and holds its member back from reaching their full potential.
