  frankly, if you are that overweight, you should pay for two seats, pure and simple.

  why should someone have to be crushed by someone obese?

  skinny people have rights, too

  Oh Puurlease...How the WT teaches JWS to pray

  technically speaking, jws are not wrong (according to the societies doctrine) if they pray this way as long as they dont keep repeating the same thing over and over: .

  our grandfather who art somewhere in heaven.. mispronounced be thy name.. thy 144000+1 come, their will be done.

  on earth as they hover in heaven.. would you care to join me in such a theocratic prayer?

  Incase you are unfamiliar with wierd JW doctrine:

  Our grandfather (They claim Christ is Father, Jah is grandfather..based on misinterpretation of Isaiah 9:6)
  who art somewhere in heaven (Jah has a location and a spirit body and lives somewhere, used to be in Pliedes but now they have lost his address)
  mispronounced be thy name (Insight book admits its a mispronoun).

  Thy 144000+1 come, their will be done (self explanitory)
  On earth as they hover in Heaven. (the kingdom is not a location, they, 144000, hover above the earth)

  with all the talk lately about micheal jackson, i wanted talk about prince.. a few months ago, hung out with prince.

  i was also planning on going to a public talk meeting with him, but i got into town too late.

  Great story:

  Oh, the one thing that BURNED ME UP, was after I got back from the concert - I gave my experience to the group after a bookstudy of how well Prince was doing.The look of disgust on peoples faces - saying to the effect - he doesn't deserve to be a witness

  What a self rightous bunch! I thought they would have been keen to have such an accomplished artist in their midst.

  They often brag about famous people joining them as if somehow it demonstrated how they had the truth, naturally they dont bother mentioning how many famous people are catholic.

  Thanks for sharing your story, very interesting. BTW is Prince baptised?

  God's Name?

  another question for everyone.

  i have read through some of the threads, posts or whatever and even though there is a sense of disagreement over witnesses and the society, their way of handling the words of the bible.

  i was curious to know if anyone does believe jehovah is his name?

  Knowing Gods name is "Jehovah" doesnt make a person a Christian does it? Even Masons recognise the name "Jehovah" as do some none christian movements.

  Plus, since you have read that name in many other Bibles you will see that name existed before the Watchtower existed so they can not claim only they are making that name known. They do not have exclusivity to it and it was used way before they took it on.

  In reality the pronounciation "Jehovah" did not exist before the 12 century so it is not the eternal Name of God after all. Try saying "YHWH" and when you feel you have the most correct pronounciation let us know how you determined it was correct...let us know also how JWs can condemn those who dont use their mispronounciation of Gods name...is one mispronounciation better than another?

  If you are unsure what to call God, do as Jesus taught and call him father, that denotes intimacy, JWS do not have intimacy with him but they sure do have intamcy with the mispronounciation of his name...sounds futile doesnt it?

  Since you haven't, there is no frame of reference, and everything else is just guessing what you are asking If you don't define it, we can't discuss it, because everyone has a different view about it

  The original question was a free for all, for an individual to share their own interpretation or definition, because everyone has a different view it interest me to know their definitions. Not to compare theirs with mine, thats why there was no frame of reference. I'd be interested in yours.

  The Jargon is out!!!!!!!!

  have any of you noticed, especially those that have never been witnesses that jw's seem taken back or even weary of you for some reason if you know their lingo?

  it has happened to me several times in conversations.

  some were pleasent, others not so much, but either wat the witness i was talking to always reacted in utter shock and almost suspicion of me when i knew their terminology.

  Meadow lol....that is very true, I always re-word their NWT to make it sound like I'm quoting the KJV even if I aint. When talking to one at work I refer to their hall as "Church" and their elders as "Bishops" you should see their faces, full of disgust. ....I try to disguise the jargon but sometimes I slip.
