  tremendous numbers of people use the guardian talkboards http://talk.guardian.co.uk/.

  if we keep the jw thread near to the top under "issues" it might eventually draw some attention.

  i apologize for harping on the same theme; however, i feel that at this juncture we need to step up the heat.

  merely talking amongst ourselves is not going to achieve too much.

  the un/wts issue, together with silentlambs and ajwrb, presents, in my view, the greatest opportunity in a long time for getting results.

  i for one am throughly fed up and royally pissed off with the crap from this organization.. if badwillie will set up a paypal account i will send money to it.

  any other takers?.

  badwillie - if you agree to this, and there is sufficient support, then get yourself a high powered attorney and sue their asses off.. also: if you do agree, how about we let the guardian know what we are doing.. t.

  sometimes we forget how hard some of those hailstones of congealed truth from the society really are.

  note how the society essentially states that because humans nuke and napalm each other that we should not be surprised that so too would god.. t.. *** w56 8/1 465 jehovah's message against gog of magog ***.

  16 in the wake of armageddons carnage, disease and pestilence from the rot and decay would plague the survivors were it not for the fact that jehovah sends forth an invitation to the birds and beasts to attend this great slaughter.

  you are probably aware of this, but this site carries a link to the guardian article http://www.unitednationsnews.com/ do a search for jws and it will produce a link to the guardian's article.

  looks like a news arm of the un.. they may be interested in the actual story - although they seem simply to collate news items from other sources.

  might be worth emailing them.. also http://www.un.org/news/

  the nyt has a series of forums and one is devoted to religious issues, particularly in light of current events.

  it occurs to me that the wts's recent actions provide an opportunity to generate discussion.

  UN Requitrements for NGO's - Res 1296 (1968)

  here is a link to the text of resolution 1296 (1968).

  not sure how much of this already exists, but this resolution would have goverened the wts's application.. http://www.globalpolicy.org/ngos/ngo-un/info/res-1296.htm.

  i did some fishing around at the un site and came up with some interesting statements about the requirments for ngos.
