I am in a helping field. I am a teacher at a junior high school. I was going to college shortly before I left the borg. I didn't attend meetings for several years while finishing college. My family and I finally disassociated ourselves last year, which was my first year teaching. I chose to be a teacher because I love it. I like being with young people all day. They're funny and I see results from my work. I was a teacher's aid in college and knew I wanted to teach.

by gilwarrior infor me it was when i was living in mexico and i got a job as a waiter out of sheer boardom.
the pay was lousy, the work was hard, the boss was an asshole, and at the end of the week i was told that i was not good enough to be a waiter and i was fired.

Putting away clothes that people had just tried on at the Target Dressing room. I couldn't believe people had tried on some of the ghastly clothes I saw there. Most clothes were fine, I just hated putting away and dealing with swimsuits that people had just worn. At night I had to straighten up the clothing sections that people had ransacked. For someone who hates to clean, this job drove me crazy.

Your favorite pic from the Kingdom pubs.
by LDH inthis one is for jt, who is interested in body modification (lol).
i will be the first to admit a rabid fascination with a certain picture....... back when i was about 7, i stumbled across the most fascinating picture in all of dubdom....... are you holding your breath?!?!?.
it was in the evolution or creation book....the picture of the black, african tribal woman with that huge freakin plate in her lip!.

I always like to look at the picture from the "You Can Live Forever in Paradise" book. It showed some chick getting into spiritism. I fascinated me because it I wanted to know the story behind the gruesome picture. To me, it had all the makings of a good scary movie. I also loved the drawings of Babylon. She looked like some crazy prostitute. It was fascinating.

Hands up , who used to draw in their books and mag
by sleepy inthe watchtower has been taking for what seems like an hour , and theres still an hour to go .so what do you do?.
you get out your pen or pencil and start drawing on the pictures.. yopu change moses into satan and draw big breasts on the sister living in the newsystem.. was i the only one?

Okay, let's do this in order by meeting. On Tuesdays, my sister and I would draw on the books. The best was when you'd get to reread a book because you could go back and critique your earlier work. You could add on horns or blood coming from mouths. The problem of this was twofold. One, if a picture was already drawn on and you came up with a better idea, you couldn't erase what you had done. The other was if my dad got our books by mistake. SPANKING CITY!
On Sundays, you wrote mean notes about other people in the hall. During the WT study, you draw on pictures. My fav was this picture of Adam planting a tree in the Garden of Eden. A duck was behind him quacking but it looked like it was about to bite him on the ass. A family favorite was to draw what people were thinking in the pictures. It always seemed that Jesus was always drawn like he was expaining something hard for him to understand.
Finally Thursdays were usually a pretty art-free day. It was the middle of the week and you were tired. You just tried to sit quietly and think of all the TV you were missing. My family waited until after the meeting to eat dinner, so I was usally planning to chow down as soon as I got home.
I kinda miss that graffitti. Some of my best work was done then an I couldn't even show it off to people. Now my only hope is to imagine what I could draw in my students books. -

For those who grew up a JW . . .
by Trixie indoes it ever surprise you when you see people that you grew up with as a jw and they're still witnesses?
i went to school with a lot of those jw kids my age and i can't believe that they continue to be jws when they are free of their parents.. i want to say," you're an adult with a high school education or a ged!
haven't you figured the scam out?!".

I can see what you're saying. I think my problem is that the only witnesses in my entire family were my parents and my sister and I. We all hated the hall and decided to quit. It's a really lucky situation, especially after reading what some people have lost since they left.

JW Leadership Is Evil
by metatron inin response to people like sexyteen, i point out that most witnesses.
are just naive, child-like people willing to believe most anything.
their leadership tells them.. however, watchtower leadership is genuinely evil.. why?
-
Trixie
The leaders of the JWs are terrible. When my father was disfellowshipped the elders forbid my mother from telling people what was disfellowshipped for and who else was involved. Nevermind the fact my mother was the injured party and she every right to do so.
Argh, still makes me mad to think about.
"Evil, evil. Impolite and evil!"
