  my turn...if I'm not mistaken, I believe the cop was justified. Cops are authorized to use deadly force when necessary. They are not simply authorized to wound someone or something, they are authorized to KILL if they feel threatened. Too many people today complain about police encroaching on their rights. While that may be true on a societal level, in cases like this, the cop was true to the law. It's a scary thought, but it has been the rule of thumb for generations. Even if there are details missing from this story, the only necessary variable is if the cop felt threatened. Go ahead you bleeding hearts, cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.

  i am alone at home tonight.

  my wife and children are busy having dinner and 'spiritual association' with an elder and his wife.. i wasn't invited, even though i am not da or df, just inactive.

  and although i've made my position clear in that i'm not interested anymore i've never made any trouble really.. i didn't think it would hurt but it does.

  I remember that quote also, and thinking it was the biggest piece of crap I had ever seen. When I confronted my JW sister in law about it (the same one whom I told that you need alcohol to have a good time) without even flinching, she said: "Oh, they changed that".

  Must be new light that told them it is grounds for divorce now.

  there have been a whole bunch of probing questions in new threads lately.

  people are encouraged to spill their guts out on the most sensitive of topics including jeopardizing their identities with questions about what they like on their pizzas.

  just call me old fashioned, but some of these polls look like information-gathering the wts would love to mine.

  The way I see it: Seeing as the borg is doomed, and Jehovah's spirit is no longer with them, there is no deceitful, underhanded, sly, malicious method they can use to save themselves. They can monitor this board as well as others until the cows come home, and it won't make a lick of difference. Intelligent people will see through the smokescreen, and their numbers will decline. There is nothing they can do. God will see to it.

  hey truth...I must say you are an inspiration. When I think back, I don't think my story compares to yours. It's sad that in your case, you supposedly 'paid the price' for fornication. I can picture some in your congregation saying "Tsk tsk..that is what she deserves." That was NOT punishment for your 'fornication'. Just bad luck. At any rate, I'll be going down to my parents house in Woonsocket on Sunday. Email me if you want to hook up and shoot the shit for awhile. My dad used to be an elder as well as the PO, and is out of the 'crotchtower' as well. Perhaps we could be of some assistance. Email me, I mean it.
