Your term for crossing guard made me laugh. In Rhode Island a few years back, there was a massive number of arrests in a place referred to as "Lollipop Lane" in one of the suburban areas, I forget which town exactly. Bunch of gay guys got caught with their pants down, literally.

Good point, I wonder if it would have anything to do with the fact that if they show some sort of increase in a country with extreme types of financial, social, governmental problems (Croatia-there was a little war there a little while ago) it would prove to be some sort of 'encouragement'. But if they were to show a decrease in Canada (last I knew, everyone was pretty ok there), it would spark some thought as to various issues that are present in the congregations. All the good little dubs elsewhere would say "tsk tsk". They wouldn't want to provide any sort of 'discouragement' in that aspect, would they?

Pee Wee Herman charged for child porn
by Prisca inhollywood stars charged over child porn.
afp - two famous hollywood actors, including a former children's television star, were charged with child sex offences following a one-year child pornography investigation.. actor jeffrey jones, 56, who had a leading role in the 1986 hit movie ferris bueller's day off, was charged with taking sexually explicit photos of a 14-year-old boy and with possessing child pornography.. his friend, movie actor paul reubens, 50, who played the whacky children's tv character pee-wee herman before he was arrested for indecent exposure in a porn cinema in 1991, was charged with possessing child pornography.. reubens was expected to surrender to authorities, said mathew littman of the los angeles prosecutor's office.. jones, who played the mean-spirited school headmaster in ferris bueller, which starred heartthrob matthew broderick, surrendered to los angeles police on thursday and has been released on $us20,000 ($a35,574) bail.. los angeles prosecutors said the arrests and charges were the result of an investigation that started one year ago, during which the homes of both men were searched following allegations from a boy who is now aged 15.. jones' lawyer jeff brodey told the los angeles times his client was cooperating with police and prosecutors and stressed he had not been charged with performing any sexual act linked to the boy.. "this is all about photos.
there are no allegations of any touching or any improper acts with a minor," he said.

Incorporated churches
by Guest 77 inaccording to barbara ketay, she says about churches being incorporated, that,'...(87%) have been coerced by the government into becoming an incorportaed church, i.e., irs 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, or better yet a 'state church".. in light of the answer that jesus gave to the disciples of the pharisees and the party followers of herod about paying taxes, would jesus and his followers today be 'incorporated?
' if not, then why is the wtbts incorporated?
is this not also a 'mark' of the beast?

Thanks Nav,
I always wondered what would have happened if the borg was sued (child molestation suits) and they didn't have money to pay. I was wondering if I had to get my DA letter in ASAP!

Help! Neighbor starting a study
by Trotafox ini am so furious.
the very zealous elderly pioneer sister who lives across the street (alberta) has been canvassing the neighborhood for studies.
i watch her walk up and down the street and being very friendly and helpful with her neighbors (all the while preaching to them i'm sure).

Trot,
IMO, the bottom line is, let them make their decision. It is their life. I know, personally, I have a very difficult time letting others butt in to my business. After all, that is what dubs do, isn't it? Be a friend to them, that is all. If they ask your opinion, offer it. I know, it hurts to say that, but, in the end, you have to let them live their life.

I'm going to stir some shit now...hope you don't mind...Foo Fighters are and will always be better than that group led by that bozo Curt "Heroine Queen" Cobain. Dave Grohl is the real genius. Cobain was a druggie that got lucky. The quintessential song from Nirvana was the last one..."You Know Your Right"--Should be entitled, "You Know I'm a Druggie"--that song sucked ass. I'd hate to say he did us a favor, but why could'nt Curt just shut the hell up? But I digress...one more thing, Dave Grohl kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucy, you're not the most hated. Misguided, maybe a little. I like you.
There is only one person on this board who filled that category:
the beloved FRED HALL

When is it really over...................???
by inaweout ini am a newcomer to this site, and a curious one at that.. i have been dating a guy who was / is to some degree, a jw.
although he no longer attends meetings, and does not share jw's beliefs, he is active in other ways.
for example, he is active on this site; he spends a good deal of time referencing his past life as a jw; and, he gets very angry (but not towards me) every time he hears or thinks about the jw's.

Maybe some who were raised in it have a harder time adjusting to life outside. Maybe some of you who were could reply to this. I was raised in it, and now that I'm out, I feel a little detached. The false sense of love within one's family and circle of friends is difficult to change into something real, once you enter the real world. My entire family is out, and while my parents (who were not raised in it)have an easier time going back to celebrating Christmas, even after 5 years of being out, myself, I still can't get into it. Don't know if I ever will. And not only that, I still have a hard time with my own family. I just can't get close. It's difficult to describe. Anything similar from you guys/girls?

al-Qaida demands America convert to Islam
by Reborn2002 ini found the article interesting and something which may trigger discussion.. why do i get the uneasy feeling something reminscent of 9/11 looms on the horizon?.
it is inevitable that al-qaida will again attack the united states.
it is also inevitable that eventually they will be successful in causing death on a massive scale (as this is their intent) much like they did when the world trade center and the pentagon was attacked.

Avishai, you know, that sounds so insane, it just might work.
As far as the man, Mohammed, is concerned, the fact that he led military campaigns really shouldn't have anything to do with what happens today. Mohammed was only acting in the context of his day, much like the Israelites on their way to Canaan. Mohammed cannot be blamed for the violence that happens today. It's the fundamentalists, threatened by encroachment of the west, who hark back to the days of the 'rightly guided caliphs'. They insist on living in the 7th century. They are the ones to blame for all of this. While I sincerely doubt Mr. Bush's intelligence, he is right when he says that the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving.
