  How Important is the Past?

  i am quite sad and confused...

  how important is it to be truthful and completely truthful about ones past in a relationship?

  is it unusual for one to be severely hurt after discovering that a mate has not said everything about a past relationship even thouhg they calim to have?

  i am not, and never have been a jw.

  my interest in them started 1 year ago when i started to 'study'.

  going on to the internet, and searching ' jehovah's witnesses' led me to this board, (among others).

  i just went to my old church's website and found out what they're up to.. when i was there, the midweek home bible studies were called cottage meetings, then home groups.

  you studied pretty well what the study leader had on his (or her) mind at the time.

  the church growth movement of the late 80s and 90s has changed all that.

  at one time, nearly all of us held the thought that we would live forever.

  the thought of our being mortal and actually dying just wasnt there.

  deep inside, we all know we are going to die one day, but has the realization of the truth of that ever just hit you, right out of the blue?

  Like Darkhorse,I am a non JW and never have been,I came to this site for much the same reasons,as I have a good friend who was a JW.

  I wont mince my words to you,I have been horrified at some of what I have learnt about the JWs,I fully respect that what you want to do with your life is up to you,but please keep visiting this site,learn and ask those questions,there are a lot of good people here.

  For what its worth,I would say,DONT DO IT.
