though i haven't heard as much about this concept in the last few years, during much.

of my tenure as a jw ('74-'01) there was frequent mention in the pages of the wt urging.

witnesses to live a simplified lifestyle.

i was wondering if anyone else is feeling it on the wind that there seems to be a coming.

equivilency between officially disassociating onesself, and simply being in a state of.

non-association as a walkaway, fade-out, inactive person.

it is a winamp plugin program which synchronizes amazingly varied, constantly morphing visualizations with music.

i saw it for the first time last night, and i thought is was extremely cool.

it is endlessly watchable.. i was with my xjw son and another xjw who is df'd, so i hope that qualifies this to be at least a little jw related.. ---- http://www.nullsoft.com/free/milkdrop/screenshots.html.

well, another issue of the wt came today, aug 15,2001. and again it has some statements which piqued my ire, so i thought i would share a couple.. on pg.28, paragraph 14, in the study article titled 'do not give up in doing what is fine'is the following:.

"remember too, that 'jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed, but desires all to attain to repentance.

' (2 peter3:9) notice, god is 'patient with you'--members of the christian congregation.

the august 1 wt arrived in my mailbox today.

i eagerly ripped off the wrapper in anticipation of fresh spiritual gems.

i was not disappointed.

Escaped with my life!

i wanted to give an update to all those who kindly offered suggestions on how to deal with my jw son's ultimatum' "go tell the elders, or i will".. these last few days have been an intense crash course in life for me.

having experienced my firstborn son, whom i gave birth to, wiped his behind, dried his tears, and helped to grow to adulthood with loving support, threaten to turn me over to the "authorities" (elders) for wrong thinking and wrong speech, has been a deeply disturbing experience.

learning the truth about the "truth" was shocking, but this is just a crying tragedy.. after he found a short email from a board friend, which inadvertantly got into our regular email box instead of my private one, i was given a week to go to the elders.

this is my first try at posting on a discussion board, though i have been lurking here and at a few others on the same subject for a few weeks now.

about 4 weeks ago i took the plunge and decided to see just what all the mystery and danger of reading "apostate" material was all about.
