I chose to latch on to Christianity after leaving and I have come to the conclusion that it has no more to offer than the WT.

With thy regard to Genesis, I was awakened when I was asked who created the sword God or man? I had to answer man. But it was God who placed the turning sword to block the entrance to Eden. This really got me to research Christianity and the bible critically.

history tells that when institutions and regimes celebrate their excistence, changes are about to come.. the ddr: 40 years of rule in 1989, and the wall came down.. the ussr: 75 years of rule in 1990, and gorbatchov was forced to take the back door and lost his power.. so, 100 years of kingdom rule in 2014, will wts planned this year the year of change.

it seems that the wts legal dept.

has been working with the fb [facebook] legal dept for about a year and also with youtube whoever they are, to enforce transparency.

There is an elder here that spies on Facebook posts. He made comment about posts on my sons fb page. My son was never baptized and frequently uses cuss words and this elder is not friended by my son. The elder is actively looking for info on me and my wife. We have not attended for 4 years.

completly enjoying an extended coffee break when an elderly (80+) brother coyly remarked with a half smile on his face and holding up his third cup as if to salute his revelation "these sure are critical times hard to deal with.

i nervously laughed along and then quickly changed the subject as a dutiful elder should.

what was it about the jw religion that first gave you serious doubts as to its truthiness?.

for me it occurred in late 1984 when we were studying the brochure the divine name that will endure forever which had been released at the summer convention that year.

I began to doubt after sitting on my my first JC. As a new Elder I just sat there taking notes as asked. Probably with my jaw dropped to the floor. I was so naive. It took me 8 years to finally stop attending.

we were on the subject of new light, i was saying that if the org changes a teaching then the old teaching was wrong and cannot qualify as truth at the time it was taught, so where did the falsehood come from?.

his response was the gb is imperfect!!

It comes across as shunning because they no longer have anything in common with you and don't know how to act. It's easier for them to just Keep their distance.

Bro Elder, the Bible was written by imperfect men so likely Matthew misunderstood the Holy Spirit when he wrote that passage.

(Pretty cool: I wrote holy spirit in lower case and spell check automatically changed it to upper. Brilliant)
