Getting beaned in the head by a rock inside a snowball is not fun. A few years back my hubby thew a snowball at me, didn't know there was a rock in it. Let's just say I landed on my back and I was seeing stars for a while.

Have you heard of a Jehovah's Witness on federal SSDI disability Pioneering ? How common is this ?
by BottleGate_ inasking 4 a friend.

I knew one guy who was a pioneer and was on full disability. Eventually, he ended up getting married, and who he got his disability from told him that he was going to lose all of it because his wife can now support him. But his wife, who had her own job, by the way, said no. She was not getting married to a guy just to support his @$$ (her words). He ended up working, it was that or not eating, losing his wife, and being homeless. lol

Do your JW relatives still talk to you?
No
Are you now not very close?
Not anymore, but they are toxic people so good riddance.
Are you avoided?
Yes, but as far as I'm concerned they can stay far far away. I'm done with their mind games.

Besides Everlasting Life What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Offer To Anyone?
by minimus ini have been thinking... why would anyone want to join the religion or actually stay in the organization.
i understand that people don’t want to lose their loving family and dear friends so some stay in.
but what does anyone really ever get because they are jehovah’s witnesses??.

The only thing the JWs offer are lies, and how to sell those lies to others.

When I was still a JW, we were trained on how to look for people who are going through difficult times. Easy targets are those who are going through difficult times, that was how they got my mother. All it took was the death of my sister, she was 5 years old at the time, for them to sweet talk themselves into her life. Before that my mother would have nothing to do with the JWs, for her it was the opposite, she would do anything she could to stop others from getting interested in them.

Haven't worn a dress, and hubby hasn't worn a suit in over 18 years. All that stuff went to Goodwill shortly after we left.

How Much of the WT Teaching Did You Believe?
by Ding insome people on this forum have said that they never really believed any aspect of wt teaching, that they couldn't wait to get free of it all.. others seems to have been really gung ho, believing it all until something happened that got you questioning "the truth.".
i would say my own high water mark was about 50%, which put me squarely on the fence, trying to decide if i should be in or out.. how about you?.

I was pretty gullible when I was younger, and I was raised up in it. At the time I thought I had thoroughly researched everything to believe in it at about 95%. My research at the time consisted of only Watchtower literature, their bible, and no internet to fact check. But to give credit I didn't even know what the internet was; this was before the internet became what it is now. I did though have a very hard time believing that only the JWs were going to survive Armageddon. I saw people who I witnessed who were very good people, and done wonderful things for their families and fellow human beings, while on the other hand, I saw JWs who were total slimeballs. That was something that always bothered me. There were certain teaching of the Watchtower that I just could not wrap my mind around either. Come to find out later after really doing proper research on why I couldn't, and that was it was because those things were what the people in the Watchtower totally made up to try to justify their lies.

Why is Life Expectancy in the USA So Low Compared to Other Countries?
by RubaDub ini was looking at the world health org.
report and it shows the us ranks 37th in the world (tied with albania) for combined male/female life expectancy.
the top 5 were japan, switzerland, singapore, israel and spain, all around 83 years.

I have a strong feeling as to why the United States ranks where it does on life expectancy is not so much the health care but all the crap the food industry puts in our food, sugar being the main culprit. They put sugar and lots of it in EVERYTHING we eat even if it does not require it. I was watching a documentary where they were talking about this, which was what made me aware of the problem, and how bad it is.
