Sorry I don't always post and this is only my 3rd post since joining.
With all the new changes and "letters" being read at meetings and not posted to the back information, it got me thinking about a large international companies marketing plan to draw new customers and retain them. Having worked directly with them and seeing how they implemented the marketing strategy that helped them build their sales team and revenue, I have to say the similarities are eerily close.
The first step they had was to hire “regional managers” that over saw all local managers and supervisors. The VP’s and Presidents for each division over saw the hiring and firing of all the regional managers. Local managers and supervisors jobs where to push the sales reps through fear of firing. Sales reps in turn where constantly a buzz of how much they were doing for the company and how great it was.
Next came the exclusivity of the in store only coupon. This included specials and getting foot traffic in the doors so new customers could see what the coupon actually stated and the deal they could receive.
Here’s the bullet points of what this accomplished:
• To Increase Number of New Customers
• To Increase Sales of a Specific Product
• To Increase Branding & Awareness
• To Reward Current Customers
• To Entice Return of Former Customers
• To Create An Opportunity to Up-sell a More Profitable Product
• Highly Measurable Form of Marketing
How to Use Coupons in Promotions
Coupons should motivate the consumer to not only purchase the product but to take notice of the brand.
If you swap out “regional manager” with CO,
Managers and Supervisors with Elders and Servants,
Sales Reps with Brothers and Sisters and
Coupons with Letters from the GB
You get the same formula that most fortune 500 companies use.
Most of the revenues from such companies are distributed to investments, various departments (including legal) and the top brass of the company.
This would make sense for the WTBS, with “where is all the money going” questions arising.
Plus, how else do you think they pay for books covered in gold in the GB’s inner sanctum? (I wish I was joking about this)
