"I lived on Fudgesicles that convention and lost 3 pounds."
Must be a new diet!
it's that time again!
time for the watchtower to beg for contributions!.
the nov. 1 wt has the usual article with a great big grey box covering two pages.

Anyone have any updates on the CA apostofest this weekend? Still on for sunday in Alpine Village?
this is a for real question, not just hypothetical.
some of you are aware that i am going through a very rough time.
i have been diagnosed with chronic major depression, probably from childhood.
Whenever I think about ending it all, I think about all the stuff I haven't done before.
If i'm gonna die tomorrow, what would I do today. Do stuff that makes you feel alive!! Go bungie jump or something, if you feel like dying, you have nothing to lose. You might enjoy it. Hang glide, sky dive. Go out and drink it up. Meet people and have fun. Talk to strangers, just do all the stuff you would like to do but don't because you are too afraid.
Also, take the meds that the doctors give. Clinical depression is a chemical imbalance. Nothing wrong with that. Juest need to regulate those chemicals in your silly lil head.
the 'awake' magazine never misses an opportunity to project the thought that.
the world is frightening - and hopeless.
the latest (oct.22,2002) is no excception.. on the final page inside, it quotes from a review of a book called "inviting disater -.
Has anyone sent letters asking them about their deceptive quotes and actually got a response? Especially from their Kreashun book?
could someone please help me with some suggestions!!
my family has been out for about 4 1/2 months now.
we have been inactive for a few years off and on.
Bad things happen to everyone! Bad things happen to people who go to meetings, and those who don't. Bad stuff happens to the good, the bad and the ugly. Good things happen to everyone too. It all depends on how you look at it. You can blame the bad things on whatever you want, like not going to the meetings, karma, luck, whatever...
She is just feeling guilty and looking for an excuse or a reason for the bad. I had some good stuff happen to me since I left, what does that mean?
when i was a jw, i really couldn't stomach the watchtowers.
the only articles i would read would be for the family study/watchtower study.
it seemed so archaic and old-people-ish.. i did read the awake from cover to cover almost every time.
I like them because they are recyclable!
I filled my huge recycle bin (the kind you roll out to the street) half way with back issues of WT/AWAKE?!?!
I know, some say sell it on Ebay, but I didn't wanna deal with all that crap. Felt better throwing it away. I only hoped the Garbage men didn't see them and start reading them. Then I would feel guilty.
i was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.
if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.
one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.
No, I agree with you. The AND is not needed, it is even incorrect. Him demanding that it has to be there was wrong.
Sorry for the miscommunication
ok here is my situation, i met this girl that is a jw....she is not that heavily into her religion but we talked for a long time face to face and she is very hesitant on attempting to start a relationship.
so i have been researching for the past couple of days to undersatnd her religion and see if there is anything that i could use to dissuade her from saying no.
so last night we talked about the ifs, and buts, and such stuff like that.
Ok, I read your post and it is exactly how my situation stared. Her older sister married a person because she got knocked up (he isn't a dub tho). My ex started to date me. Dad threw a crap-fit. Forbid us to see. I realy liked her so I looked into the religion. Didn't really count the consequences and I really wanted to be with her. so I started studying and got duped into being one, hoping I can just go through the motions and still be with her. We got married and things really started to bother me about being in the borg (JW). I was accepted by her family ONLY AFTER I WAS BAPTIZED. Her dad HATED when I wasn't a DUB, Loved me when I was, now refuses to say hi to me when I see him at the store. In the real, normal world I wouldn't say all families are like that but Dubism isn't the real world. They are TOLD what to do and how to handle situations, so this will PROBABLY happen to you if you presue it. It really isn't their choice, they are kinda brainwashed into what to think. Conditioned really. They go through scenarios on how to handle situations. Have books on what to say and when. They are trained to all do the same thing. BE CAREFUL!

Don't date a dub.
I Tried, got sucked in and 5 years later ended up right where I left off, only 5 years older. I loved her but she will always choose her religion over you, and they will tell her not to be with you unless you are a dub. HUGE friction. too many other people out there to get messed up in that situation.

I didn't even open the WT after a while. The Awake I opened occasionally. I mainly looked for articles that intersted me. But they were never deep enough. Just skimmed the stuff I already knew. Then I'd flip to watching the world for all the "Evidence" that we were in the "last days"(tm) for a good laugh. Then I'd skim over the comments from our readers to see if anyone complained about wrong info. Only place WT admits they are wrong.
Anyone leave recently enough to study the Creator book? That was a frustrating Book Study to be in. Everyone said how hard of a study it was because it was way over their heads. I learned that stuff in Jr High for christs sake. We had like 2 people answering the majority of the questions because nobody was paying attention. Funny stuff.
