Nahh, God will provide and after Armageddon, a degree in higher education from an accredited university won't mean diddly squat. Till then...

This was brought up by My Journey and they requested information regarding it. This is a quote from the page below regarding how the WT takes other's words out of context to fit their own agenda.
QUOTE..........MISQUOTE:In its "Reasoning From the Scriptures" book, the Watchtower Society quotes from several sources to support their "torture stake" theory.
These publications not only seem authoritative, but also seem to support the Society's claims regarding the "torture stake" rather than the traditional cross. However, unbeknown to many, the Watchtower Society has not been honest in its quotations of its sources.
For example, one publication that the Society quotes in its "Reasoning..." book on page 89 is The Imperial Bible Dictionary. Below is the Watchtower quotation, with the words that they omitted in RED:
"The Imperial Bible Dictionary acknowledges this, saying: "The Greek word for cross, (stauros), properly signified a stake, an upright pole, or piece of paling, on which anything might be hung, or which might be used in impaling (fencing in) a piece of ground. But a modification was introduced as the dominion and usages of Rome extended themselves through Greek-speaking countries. Even amongst the Romans, the crux (from which the word cross is derived) appears to have been originally an upright pole, and always remained the more prominent part. But from the time that it began to be used as an instrument of punishment, a traverse piece of wood was commonly added...about the period of the Gospel Age, crucifixion was usually accomplished by suspending the criminal on a cross piece of wood." -

What is the difference between Creationism and Intelligent Design?

All creationism tries to do is answer the questions evolution hasn't answered yet. Trying to disprove elements of evolution doesn't make creationism right.
I like Michael Shermer's comments on his recent debate with a YEC
I then moved to the most important slide of my presentation: the famous Sidney Harris cartoon of two scientists at a blackboard filled with equations, with the words ?THEN A MIRACLE OCCURS? in the mathematical sequence. The caption has one scientist saying to the other: ?I THINK YOU NEED TO BE MORE EXPLICIT HERE IN STEP TWO.? Again and again throughout the evening I drove home the point that creationists are doing nothing more than saying ?then a miracle occurs.? This is the ?god of the gaps? argument?wherever an apparent gap exists in scientific knowledge, this is where God interjects a miracle. I also noted, quite emphatically, that neither Hovind nor any other creationist would ever present positive evidence in support of their creationist position, because no such evidence exists. They can always and only attack the theory of evolution and hope that no one notices that they have said nothing that would lead to a creationist conclusion. They offer no mechanism for creationism.

Hi, I'm new to the site, and kind of don't understand...
by my-journey ini was just curious as to the aim of this website?
i thought it was a discussion board for those interested in/ for jehovah's witnesses, but it seems like you're all former jehovah's witnesses?
so is this site just to bash jehovah's witnesses?

Theoretically public reproof means the Elders think you did something wrong and need to tell everyone that you did something wrong. So they announce you as 'marked' and 'bad association'. The something wasn't bad enough to get Disfellowshipped yet.
In reality, its a lesser form of punishment instilled by the church. A blemish on your permanant record (they do keep records on you, called a publisher card).

Wasn't Saddam ousted for doing precisely this sort of thing?
by Simon inutterly disgusting.
those responsible should be lined against a wall and shot.
publicly.. i think that would win more hearts and minds than bombing cities and using gunships on civilian areas.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4855930/.

How did you get out of field service?
by Mulan inwhen i was a kid, we had the meeting for service at our house on saturdays.
i would seem to be getting ready in my room and when mom went into the living room, i would run into her bathroom and get in the shower.
i had long hair, and no hairdryers in those days.

I changed my work schedule around where I had to work saturday and sunday mornings (Only good thing about working in a restaurant!)
I just loved telling people I had to work when they asked to partner up for service. It was a sorry attempt to get me out there....

American Idol final: Diana or Fantasia
by Mulan ini thought both girls sang amazingly last night.
both had one song that wasn't so great, so the contest was a draw for me.
since simon so obviously favors fantasia i voted 3 times for diana.

I'm sorry to even have an opinion in American Idol but.....
I cant stand Fantasia. Her voice is whiney, and she has an unmistakable lithp that makes me crack up when I hear her sing. I have no Idea why she is even in it still....Oh yeah, everyone else in the competition isnt all that great.
They are all a lot better than me, of course. But Idols, I think not.
That girl who got booted before George should have won it, but oh well...Its probably all fixed anyway.
