The missing link
by link inim a newbie and the first thing i have to do is apologise for not being able to make a full introduction for myself.
this is because i am the only member of my family that has been able to stay out of the j.w.s.
as long as i attend meetings with them and keep my opinions to myself i am allowed to stay on the outside.

Very interesting post. I tend to agree with you on this. Everyone has a rebellious time in teenage years, but not extreme. I was never under extreme control by my parents. I was able to ride my bike pretty much wherever I wanted to. I had limits, as any kid should. I was told what to eat and stuff, but they were reasonable bounderies. I resented the control that the dubs enforce. My wife on the otherhand had a very controlled youth. She couldn't ride her bike away from the front of her house. She praises this control now, saying it protected her.

It isn't going to bother me if i get DA'd or DF'd. The people I care about are outside of the Borg. The people I have been missing these last 5 years. I couldn't give a monkies left nut if I ever saw these people again. I just want to know what to expect. I think it would be fun to go to a judicial comittee, or something like that. Bring a video camera, recording devices, ect.
Oh, on that subject, what if someone needs an interpeter, like sign language or something? Can they bring that person into their JC?

Woohoo!
Should I go to the meeting when its announced? They probably wouldn't tell me, huh? That would be nice if they did tho. Everyone in the hall knows I don't want to be a witness anymore, thanks to the wonderful mouth of my wife. The day I told her, she told the whole cong. I told 2 different elders at 2 seperate times, plus my wife. She in turn told probably the whole circut by now.

non-jws can be nice too
by jack2 inlast night on abc tv's "primetime" a story was aired about the people of gander, new foundland, who extented a great degree of hospitality toward total strangers as planes were diverted to nearby airport in the wake of the attacks on the world trade centers on 9/11.. food was prepared and served.
people opened their homes to the passengers.
some passengers have even returned to gander to bond once again with the people who showed them such kindness.

You see, they only took care of their physical needs. Where they there to comfort them with Watchtowers and Awake!s? Were they telling them that their dead are sleeping? Man can not live on bread alone. Thats why instead of helping people physically, WT helps them with the important things, like literature to read while they were waiting for their homes/jobs to be rebuilt.

If you ask yourself questions like this, then your are already out. It can't be answered reasonably. I asked this question and the answers I got were
1. The number is not the annointed, but the number of partakers of the memorial. Some of them are fakers, the ACTUAL number of annointed is decreasing, we just can't see it. (whats the point of counting if the numbers are wrong)
2. They are replacing the ones who fell. (does that mean everyone is failing jehovah in these last days?)

Hey, whats going to happen to me?
I have told the elders that I will no longer go to meetings and I don't believe it is the troof. They know I looked at apostate stuff but not sure they know I look at it now. They know me and the wife are getting a legal divorce. My PO/Father-in-law asked me to put it in writing, but I don't feel like giving them the satisfaction. I don't want to play their games anymore, just want to get away from them asap. Will they take it as a DA and announce my DAing myself or once I start up another relationship after my divorce will they DF me for fornication, or perhaps DF me when my birthday comes up. I'm not going to run to them and tell me that I celebrate stuff. If they ask me i'll tell them its none of their business what I do and ask them to leave me alone. Anyone know what kind of announcements, if any will be made? Or will I just be considered inactive and fade away?

Brother Wattington
by FiveShadows inhow many know/remember brother wattington of the southern ca co?
the one that would always start his prayer with his diagphram emphasising the first word... "jjjjeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhoooooooooovvvvvaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...." ...and then pause as if actually waiting for jehovah to turn around and say "yes jim?
" (i think his first name was jim..forgot) .....wonder what happened to him...anyone know?

I think after the beginning of one of his prayers, Jehovah actually appeared and took his body up to heaven to rule as one of the 144k king priests with Jesus. The only thing he left was his bound volumes, where are now on exhibit in the smithsonian

I guess I should see it in the theatre. I saw a bootleg copy on my pc, but I'm missing the whole "Star Wars" experience. It was a good story from what I remember.

Who are the 144,000?
by EXJWBrit ini swallowed and believed such much shit when i was a jw that i have a few more questions to ask anyone who has the answers.
the 144,000 is a big gripe of mine........ right, i was told that the 144,000 found out they were one of the anointed when they had a flash of "revelation" at some point and truly believed it or they had known since they were a child.
what a load of shit!

There was someone from Turky who claimed to be an Annointed in my KH, a woman to boot. Nobody questioned her. She is a sweet old lady, but a little haughty.
