by kls inoh yes it is that time of year again.
the time that my dogs hide when football starts because of my husband screaming at the tv.
do you scream at the tv knowing that the players can not hear you?

Thought I'd read it all....
by Country Girl inthis is about one of the strangest "philias" i've ever read about.
do you think the witnesses would consider this "porneia"?
would a person be disfellowshipped for an amputation?

Sounds like they should get psychological help before they get their limbs taken off.

Found a JW Tract at my door today.
by El Kabong infor the first time, i actually found a jw tract at my door.
now, i remember when i used to do tract work, they were all printed at the society and properly worded.
but this one just takes the cake.

There is no way that is an 'official tract. Probably some fool who ran out of tracts and printed some bs on a piece of paper. If I were you, I'd proof read it and mark all the corrections on it. Then you should go to the KH and ask for the person who left it. Hand it to them and suggest they attend a basic english class at the local community college before they attempt to distribute literature around the neighborhood.

I scream at the football players on the TV, not at the TV itself. Screaming at a TV is silly.

What Qualities Did You Find Most Attractive In The Jehovah's Witnesses???
by minimus inone thing i took pride in as a witnesss was that we knew our bible.
we could talk to any clergymen and smugly decimate them with our knowledge of the "truth".

Are JW friendships like co-worker friendships?
by Elsewhere inwhen you start working somewhere it is just a matter of time before you start going out for lunch with co-workers and doing other company related activates after work (company party, company soft-ball team, etc.
) maybe even going out for drinks after work sometimes.
when it come time for you to leave that job you no longer go out for lunch or hangout with your co-workers... maybe you will trade some emails, letters, or phone calls, but inevitably the communication comes to an end.. it seems like jw "friends" are basically the same as co-workers.

That about sums it up. When I was a dub, the "Friends" I had were friends because they were the only people there. I didn't really like them, but it was better than being alon (almost). Once I left, I have my friends that I enjoy having. Although the number is fewer, the friendship is much deeper and meaningful.

Hi everybody! ^^
by Epsilon ini must say that i have been lurking around this place for a good long while.
to know that you are not alone in your quest to escape the watchtower is one of the best ways to actually do it.. right now i'm 18, but became an unbaptized publisher at 12. i blew those elders away with my skill at parroting back the wts doctrine, and for a while, i was faithful enough in service, which i didn't really enjoy, but i had to do it to live, right?
we went to meetings regularly, even thosugh i simply dreaded the boredom and the inevitable guilt i would feel.

Fault in human DNA strand?
by El blanko inhi there - i'm sorry if this is off topic slightly, but i need information.. i am not learned in this area of science and wondered if it is true that there is a fault within human dna that science assumes is the reason we break down and die and are unable to explain.. forgive my ignorance here.
this question spins off from a conversation i had this afternoon with an ex-jw who wishes to get back to the kingdom hall and was using this argument to present his ideas to me.
i told him that i was not aware of this particular area of study but would look into it for him.. i am assuming that he read this in an awake article maybe?.

I heard that posting the 21st post in a thread prolongs life, interesting huh?
I slept through Bio in college. I'm of no help when it comes to dna, sorry. I do know that the cause of our aging isn't quite known, but I know it doesn't have anything to do with magnets.

Wow, this would have been my life had I not confronted my wife with my beliefs before we had kids. I told her and now we are divorced.
Oh yeah, and post 21!
