Can't speak for everyone but it has definitely helped me. Not to leave, but to stop feeling guilty and unworthy for leaving.

The Internet has been a lifesaver for victims of Cults of all sorts .Is it then the beginning of the end for Cults ?
by smiddy insince the internet has been available to people all over the earth, their has been an explosion of information going out that is unprecedented in the history of the world .. and one , just one of the beneficiaries of this knowedge are victims of cults who can relate to people who have undergone similar experiences and can offer help and encouragement to other victims .and this is done on a global scale .with what we are witnessing on this site with newbies joining on an almost daily basis , i live in hope that the writing is indeed on the wall for cults of all sorts.
do you agree ?.

Fantasy "Forbidden Fruit" Ex-Witness Party
by CaptainSchmideo inif you could get all willing participants on this board together in one area for a party, and told them to bring favorite music, food, movies, and dressed in certain fashion, all of which has been discouraged or outright banned either by the wts or by their flunkies (do, co, elders, busybodies in the hall, etc.
), what would you bring?.
i would bring:.

Welcome Comatose, thanks for sharing. You'll find your way in time. Most on here had their doubts at one time. Some found the courage to leave. Trust your gut instincts.

what is the earliest age you heard someone get Baptised?
by enigma1863 ini was curious what is the youngest age any jw has been baptised.
i thought it was hypocritical for jws to say wait for marriage because its such a big deal but "why wait to get baptised".
i think my step sister was 11 years old.

If your 10-12 yr old child tells you they want to get married, sign a major contract, get a driver's license or even drink a beer what would you tell them? Jesus was 30 when he got baptized. They should these kids get baptized out of freewill but that's a big lie. Take it from someone who never did, though my sisters both got baptized when they were like 12. Talk about pressure from the family, family "friends", and your peers within the continental.

I dont beleive in the christian veiw of God , are their alternatives ? Other than Judaism , Islam ,or other popular Gods in the world today ?
by smiddy inwhile i discard the notion of god as described in the bible ,and which would also include the islamic and judean religions as they have similar roots ,i do concede their are things i do not know , that occur, which i cant explain , whether they be attributed to the paranormal ,ufo`s ,ghosts ,phsysic phenomena ,poltergeists ,or whatever .it is well attested their are occurences which defy explanation .. we know as human beings we are born and we die in the flesh .. what if their was some truth in the scripture" you will be all changed in a twinkling of an eye" going from a fleshly creature to a spiritual creature ?
i find their are part truths, half truths ,truths of ommission , old truths ,new truths , and truths that are yet to be revealed .with the wtb&ts.
so is their a possibility of our continuing on in a spiritual existence ?

Satanus' explanation seems to make sense to me. WTW you seem so bitter. Take a deep breathe and let go. I'm not saying there's no sense in what you're saying. Alot make sense. Just let go and trust me you'll feel Alot better.

As much as I dislike the witnesses, this has nothing to do with them. I grew up a witness, and no witness I knew then or now would ever do such a thing.

Was jehovah/yahweh/god the first to commit an abortion?!
by OneDayillBeFree injust caught this in today's watchtower!
while the wtb&ts is going on about all of david's sins and how god was being a "god of love" and showing forgiveness to his servants, (keyword: his= only jehovah's witnesses) i decided to go ahead and start reading the whole story about what really happened.
so then i stumbled upon 2 samuel 12:15&18 .

David was more equal than the rest of the isrealites. Notice how David sinned and thousands of his countrymen died for his sins. Notice how uzzah was killed instantly for trying to stop the ark of the covenant from falling as David brought it to Jerusalem.
