my mom's cousin sharon passed away at 1:30pm thursday september 6, 2001. she was a lovely person and was always more like a sister than a cousin.
mulan held her hand every step of the way through a battle with breast cancer and she was with her when she died.. mom's birthday is tomorrow.
now she will celebrate sharon's life along with her own every year at this time.. i wish there was some way to ease your pain mom.
My condolences to you and your family, and especially Sharon's husband. Words are so inadequate at a time like this.
We are thinking of you during this time.

i had a victim call me after they had called bethel this morning.
they were informed bethe was offically closed till 1:30 pm for a special meeting with the bethel family.
would anyone care to speculate or verify the purpose of the meeting?
Judah Ben is an attorney??? What a huge double-standard.
While I was encouraged to pioneer and scrub toilets and not worry about a college education, the son of an "anointed" (GB, no less) was off getting his law degree?
Is anyone else as pissed as I am about this!
I'm sorry people but this really gripes my ass! I can't even find the words to express my anger over this.
I would have thought Judah Ben would have pioneered and eventually become a missionary. Those were the goals we were instructed to have, not a career.

i believe i have set the wheels in motion for what i believe will lead to my disfellowshiping.
i have been inactive since 1987 and still getting along with the witnesses (invited to gatherings etc.
) but something came up that finally push my buttons just enough to make me explode.
freeman, my hero!
I admire your big kahunas!
Please, please let us know what the fallout is, if any.

in another thread, someone stated: .
"also, a few years ago the wtbts was burned badly, albeit on a small scale, with the bonham, texas congregation declaring independence and siezing their own kingdom hall in the process.
since then, the wtbts has taken the appropriate legal steps to make sure that if any congregation splits, the assets will still belong to those faithful to the wtbts.

An exception might occur if nearly an entire circuit splits and all the JWs whose names are on the circuit holding corporation band together in opposition to the WTBTS. Even then, there still might be legal hurdles in taking the property away from control of the WTBTS."
I found this completely fascinating! I am in my early 40's, raised a dub and never heard this before. I was so in the dark.
I just wonder what else I have missed.
As they say, enquiring minds want to know.

Words are so inadequate at a time like this. My thoughts are with you and your family, Farkel.
Losing a parent is tough. I lost my father 5 years ago so I understand your pain and what you are going through.
You are loved by many on this board. I hope you can find some comfort in that.

max,.
i just read another thread where someone took a "shot" at you with the f__k word etc.. go hug your wife and remember what happens in october with your family.. you may meet 10 idiots on this board but i assure you, you will help save at least one life and another one's freedom.. hawk
Just wanted to add my two cents worth, Max. I have always appreciated your posts and I know you to be a man of honor. Does that make me a groupie? I've always wanted to be a groupie! haha
Seriously, there are too many people on this board that look forward to your thoughts and insights, please do not let the observations/opionions of the few outweigh the needs of the many.

ok this has nothing to do with being a jw or anything of that nature but it is important to me and i need some help:.
here goes i have been drinking rum and coke (bacardi) since i can remember and finally realized that maybe it is contributing to my severly harsh hangovers.
so i went on a quest in search of a new drink.
Tattoogrl,
I'm in the same boat as you, just getting over a hangover from drinking Long Island Ice Tea's (which are great, BTW.) I probably would have faired better if I had not indulged in the 3 Buttery Nipple shots, but hey, they were free.
On a more serious note, since cranberry juice is too sweet, try mixing Vodka (go for a top brand like Skyy, Absolut, etc.) and mix it with grapefruit juice.
Good advice about the water, too. I try to drink a full glass of water in between drinks, that seems to help.

in a controversial post in a separate thread, janh makes an extremely good observation that a certain former gb member will likely carry many, many wts "top secrets" to his grave, for whatever reasons he does not wish to divulge such.. then, on this db, former bethelites constantly exchange posts where their word choice is "cloaked" so that many of us who were not insiders are left guessing at meaning, people, etc.
obviously, even individual members of this fraternity have unique experiences and insights.
if such info is not disseminated, it is lost if that person dies naturally or in an accident.. would you folks please post more elaborately so that the rest of us can benefit from your knowledge and experience.. the statement that motivated this post made a silent reference to the author of the happiness book.
Bluesapphire,
You said, "What I do know is that the WTS must be overjoyed when they read this thread. Especially since we all know how much they must hate Max. "
At least, we on this db, have the RIGHT and FREEDOM to voice our opinions, which is something we could have never done while in the borg. So let the GB read, maybe they will learn something. To me it's a healthy outlet.
I do think MadApostate crossed the line by his verbal attack against Maximus, that is my opinion. But I also think that Max is capable of handling the situation, which he did.
