i felt like becoming the first suicide bomber of the wtbts.

i opened the august 1, 2001 watchtower on the way up to the first door in field service the other day.

and i do.. read my rip into their flesh on the bible research page.

I took the liberty of cutting my favorite paragraph and will paste below. While the whole article is excellent, you summed up perfectly what the WTS is famous for:

it could be where i grew up but i find that every congregation that i have been in has had at least one whacko!

for instance, when i was little we had one brother, his wife and daughter played the piano and organ (at the same time).

they were both strange themselves, but this brother would clip his toenails during the meeting.

For instance, when I was little we had one brother, his wife and daughter played the piano and organ (at the same time). They were both strange themselves, but this brother would clip his toenails during the meeting. Later it was uncovered that he had molested his daughter.

I also remember my dad telling the story of how he went to a witness funeral and a fight broke out, knocking over the casket.

Of course, that was back in the 60's, but I find even today, that the message seems to attract all the social rejects.

Parasites

i have just listened to a radio programme on the bbc about parasites, which it made my flesh crawl.. imagine a parasite that invades an ant, but which does more than feed from its bodily nutrients, it interferes the ants nervous system.

it does this to cripple the ant.

it must infect a bigger animal, a grazing herbivore, and for this, it must disable its host above ground during the warmth of the day.

I remember a talk by a CO by the name of Clayton Peace. He brought out that children are nothing more than parasites, always taking, taking, taking. He also stated that as soon as a baby is brought home from the hospital, you should start the discipline. He then told about when his brother brought his baby home, the baby did not like the dark, so his brother went into his room and gave him a little pop on the butt. As a mother with a small baby at the time, I was highly offended and enraged. I was not alone.

This one paragraph sums up the mentality of the majority of JW's...

Typical of people under mind-control. They are convinced that there is no where else to go, that if they leave the organization they will suffer all kinds of evils.

Whenever someone leaves the organization and maybe their life is less than perfect, witnesses are quick to jump on the bandwagon about how they brought it on themselves by leaving Jehovah's organization. However, if someone's life is crap that is still loyal to the borg, well, then that is persecution.

Marking brothers and sisters

a few weeks ago in the chat room, i learned that jw's didn't always mark their brothers and sisters.

i was baptized in 1994 and i believe that "marking" was done as early as that.

was this "marking" new light ?

Hi Jurs,

I was in the chat room that night when we had this discussion. I remember about 10 years back, a friend of mine was trying to catch her husband who was fooling around on her. She wanted to get a scriptural divorce so I would sit outside his apartment with her to try to get the goods on him.

Well, one night we hit the jackpot. We saw him go in with his girlfriend and after several hours we left. After reporting this to the elders (of which one was his father) we were told that that wasn't enough proof.

In the meantime, he was seen publicly (out on dates) with this girl. Several more reported the incident to the elders and finally they gave a talk on it.

The congregation was told that when someone who is married starts dating someone other than their spouse, that person should be marked. I guess the BOE felt like they had handled the situation properly.

I do, however, remember the skuttle-butt after the announcement was made, it went something like, "you mean it is now okay to date someone other than your spouse if you are married." I guess so, as long as you do not spend the entire night with them.

What a joke.

a lot of us are seeing all the untruth of the borg.

all the nonsense of the chronology and existents of a religious authorities like the fds/gb.

I agree with Joelbear.

We (apostates) are only a handful of people compared to the millions that still believe the WTS. I really do not foresee any real change to the organization. What changes are to be made will be subtle and of course the old standby of "the light gets brighter" will be in full force. They are very good at covering up things. Any so-called bad publicity is fed to the rank and file as persecution, further proof of divine blessing.

As a side-note, I remember back when the generation issue came about. I was still a believer and found it a little confusing, but for the most part I had the attitude that Jehovah was re-adjusting our thinking and that was what should happen. I remember friends of mine discussing it at length but I was pretty much bored with it. I think that is how the majority of witnesses feel.

It really opened my eyes, because I have a mother-in-law that tells me constantly that the witnesses are the only ones that bear God's name. After I read some of this guys articles (I don't agree with everything he says) I realized that if there were one organization that the Creator were going to use, it definitely would NOT be Jehovah's Witnesses. I shared some of this information with the PO at the congregation that I occasionally attend, of which he quickly dismissed because he said that the translation was unimportant. Unimportant, my ass!
