"Present Understanding"
by TweetieBird infor those of you that have been away from the borg for a while, there is a new catch phrase that has been popping up in the meetings, assembly talks, co's talks, etc.
it seems to me that i started hearing this term shortly after the "generation" explanation fiasco.. of course, i am referring to the term, "present understanding" or "current understanding.".
i always thought it was amusing, even when i was believing the bs, but now i find it puzzling that so many are gullible to this new phrase.

Crazy JW's
by TweetieBird init could be where i grew up but i find that every congregation that i have been in has had at least one whacko!
for instance, when i was little we had one brother, his wife and daughter played the piano and organ (at the same time).
they were both strange themselves, but this brother would clip his toenails during the meeting.

Jehovah
by TweetieBird inwhen i was first having doubts about the organization, i stumbled across the following site.... .
http://www.eliyah.com/jhovah.htm.
it really opened my eyes, because i have a mother-in-law that tells me constantly that the witnesses are the only ones that bear god's name.

Deserted Island
by TweetieBird injust for fun!!!.
excluding your spouse/significant other and children (they would be with you) who would you like to be stranded on a deserted island with?.
i think billy crystal and robin williams would have to top my list, i think they are 2 of the funniest men out there and i would definitely want to laugh.

Jehovah=WTS???
by TweetieBird ingrowing up in the borg, with 5 meetings a week, personal study, field service, etc.
it is pounded into your head that you can only have an intimate relationship with jehovah as long as you are associated with his "spirit-directed organization.
" leave the organization then jehovah leaves you.

Dear Abby column in paper today
by TweetieBird indear abby:.
last year, our family went through the most traumatic experience of our lives: we left the church we'd been attending for more than a decade.. i always suspected our church was a little "unusual," but because i saw what appeared to be positive changes in people's lives, i kept telling myself we couldn't possibly be involved in a "cult.".
my family and i were led to believe we were members of a "special" group - that we had a "different" calling than other churches, which was why we had to work harder and sacrifice more than the average christian.

To alamb
by TweetieBird inyou stated in another post.... "i personally am eternally grateful that someone went out on a limb to talk to me.
after the first 5 minutes, 35 years of beliefs melted away and i was able to see beyond the lies.
the puzzle finally fit.".

Speaking of bathrooms at the DC
by TweetieBird inreading mulan's thread about her daughter-in-law's experience in the bathroom, i couldn't help remembering what happened at one district convention in jacksonville.. a sister brought her little 2 year old son in to spank.
she whipped him for so long with a thick comb and everytime the little boy would cry she would spank him some more because he was crying.
i went back to my seat crying.

Songs that remember when
by TweetieBird inthis is the third damn time i have tried to post this.
i keep hitting the wrong button and losing it.. anyway, sometimes i hear songs on the radio that bring back some really great memories of my childhood and teenage years.
despite being raised in the borg, i had a pretty good life.
