Any Who, this is a legitamate question.

when i was young (er) the society said the army came to the assemblies to observe how they fed the flock.. my question is, even though the asemblies were much more grander then now, with the food distribution ending and all, feeding thousands of people.
now they bring their own lunches.......i regress...does anyone remember how the military was in awe of us?.

just curious as to who watched the tnt miniseries about my old friend gaius julius ceasar.
i was terribly disappointed in the movie, aside from screwing the pooch on several important historical facts the series failed to capture the sense of the man that history gives, the same being true of pompey, brutus, casius, and where the heck was crasus?
he was only like the wealthy man in rome, an invaluable asset to ceasar's rise to power, and part of the first triumvirate, which was so important in the history of rome and it's transition from republic to empire.
Yeru, I watched it too. I don't know so much about Ceasar's life so I did not see all the holes in the story. But I did enjoy it. I have read some of Cleopatra's story and if I remember right Ceasar had a son named Octavia who came into power . He is the one who came after Anthony and Cleopatra, also killing Ceasar's and Cleaopatra's son. Do I have this right?
ok. we ran a thread recently about starting a new religion.. how about we start an international congregation here on the board.. we need 7 elders.
7 being a sign of perfection..er....yeah.. we need ministerial servants.. appointments will be general concensus..er holy spirit i mean.. p.o.
lets start with him.
Sorry if I spoil some fun, But Dr. Deacon {the man that started this thread} reminds me of Jim Jones . Don't take any of his meds.
is there anyone out there from italy, in italy, was in italian congregations or groups etc???????????.
i know someone who has left the borg, has a new computer and plenty of time.
they are italian but live in australia.
If look around Randy's (freeminds) website there is a list of sites and discussion boards from all over the world. There are two from Italy.
are you happier since you've found this place?
if jwd were gone tomorrow, would you just look for another site to get involved with?
my opinion of this board is that it is one of the best boards to learn current information from.
I have to agree with TR on this one I have been a long time observer on the jw websites including the old "witnet "one. I really miss the good old H2O days. Those days are what really helped me .Also Randy's and Kent's. I think that most of the threads here (including the beloved mini's) are wallowing in the mire. Sorry guys :-( I include myself in this bath too. I have a low tolerence for fluff though .I dont watch any sitcoms on the tely either. So maybe it is just me. I hope others get what they need here.
franz schubert was an austrian composer who at one time studied with the infamous antonio scalieri.
those of you who watched the movie "amadeus" will remember scalieri.
schubert was born in 1797 and died in 1828 at the tender age of 31. even so, his music shows an incredible amount of maturity.
MOLTO BENE FARKLE GRAZIE
my journey out began with this and other ''eyeopening" internet sites [thank you simon].
i have since read ray franz's two books and greg stafford's "dissertations".
although i am very grateful to have found out that my years of questions had a solid base and i now see the wts for what it is, i have decided i need more positives in my life.
I was on amazon and there seems to be two versions of this book. One by Stephen Mitchell and one by Gia-Fu Feng. .. Can you tell me what's the one to read? thank you
.
a mouse whispered in my ear today that the may km was around... sincerely,.
district overbeer of the "faithless and indiscrete slave" class
I'm interested too ;-)
i really hate funerals and memorials and avoid them as much as i can.
looking back on the few i have attended over the past ten years i guess i only go to them because of the people who are left behind.
since i didn't know the bryant's or any of their family members i find the draw that i have to this service even more confusing.
Dave
This is such a sad story. Your thoughts have moved me to tears, reminding me of how lonely one can feel when they lose such a large part of their world.
I am grateful to have this place to read how others are coping.
I also add my support to your decesion to go to the funeral. This is an honerable act of love.
