According to a jack-ass jw I know you can.
He has screwed around on two jw wives (both df'd) and got off without even a slap on the wrist. Nailed for tax evasion three tiime by the state. Nothing done to him. Wrecked two vehicles while driving drunk. Committed business fraud which cost no less than ten million dollars damages and the homes of seven jw families. Swears like a drunken sailor. Is a chronic drunk, in public. And to date NOTHIG has been done to him, other than appointing him as a MS. He brags about being a multi-millionaire.
He told me personally that all I need to do if I want a piece of a** is to go ahead, screw whomever, confess to the "elders", claim it was a moment of "weakness", and make a make a LARGE CONTRIBUTION to the local KH and everything would be okay.
So yes one can buy their way out of disfellowshipment.

if one is wronged by a jw then it is their own fault, not the offender, and the one offended is lacking love for god.. what is a minor sin?
any sin is dealt with by the imperfect human judges with harshness and a degree of rigidity that would make steel seem soft by comparison.

So I see that the study article today once again is loaded with conDAMNation for the rank and file. If one is wronged by a jw then it is their own fault, not the offender, and the one offended is lacking love for God.
What is a minor sin? Any sin is dealt with by the imperfect human judges with harshness and a degree of rigidity that would make steel seem soft by comparison. And is the mention, again, of David showing "weakness" an excuse for the elders? If adultery and murder are merely "weaknesses" just what the hell is a major sin?
And of course one cannot let poor health, or advancing years be a reason to not willingly submit to the "carrot and stick" stories of the ruling class in New York.
Mention had to be made also of injustices some suffer at the hands of "loving" fellow jw's. We are reminded again that those injustices are only perceived, not real. And that serving the congregation is the most important thing. not the fact that we were screwed over by some brown nosing elder wannabe. Injustices are only in our imagination and simply a misunderstanding on our part. After all the elders and MS are incapable of doing anything wrong or unkind.
And lest we forget while we are not allowed to let anyone else stumble us (that indicates we don't love God) we must at the same time always tow the company line so we don't stumble someone else. They can stumble and it's our fault, but if they stumble us it's....OUR FAULT?

what naughty things can jws do?.
my naughtiest moment was rounding up 55mins to an hr in my ministry!

Anything they want....as long as they confess to the "elders", make a sizable "contribution"(bribe)to the local KH, swear that it was in a moment of weakness, swear to never do it again...until next time, play golf and eat barbecue with the head "elder", or be related to most of them. Repeat as often as needed to regularly sin.

Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?
by noonehome inso i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.
i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?
" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

And yet in his second book he made the EXACT same argument that the GB is now making for only them being the FDS. I wonder why that would be?

Sometimes I wonder if in the same manner that even something unappetizing will be snarfed down by elitists just because it has a fancy sounding name is how some of the jw's will swallow anything as long as it is called new understanding or new light?
Mr Franz made an observation in his second book that was termed "apostate" then, now it is the "new light".

-- What would happen to a JW who consulted these same scholars' writings to find out what various Greek words and phrases mean and cited these writers as authorities when commenting during a meeting at the KH?
Years ago I did. The WT claimed a Greek word's literal meaning was quite different than Strong's Concordance of Greek words. I was yanked into the back room for an a--chewing for contradicting the WT.

It is a good thing that the "worldly" man had a firearm and likely saved these two women's lives. I bet there will be some "local needs" part soon that condemns the owning, carrying, or use of any firearms by good JW's. Many years ago a marking talk was given because as a working cowboy I refused to give up my revolver and saddle rifle. I guess angels would have taken care of mountain lions, snakes, and otherwise dying livestock supernaturally.
