  2014 Convention Audio available?

  i was wondering if anyone is aware of any recordings of the convention as of yet?

  i know its relatively early, so i may just have to wait.

  just curious if anyone had a copy yet.. thanks!.

  I logged in this morning at 7am, it showed all, then they disappeared, than at 9am Friday appeared, I started download them. Then they rest appeared and I am downloading them now. 3.9 gig mp4s

  i was listening to a circuit overseer's talk and he mentioned about how a sister wanted to simplify.

  she had a couple of dogs.

  then he related that she said that all she had to do was get rid of the dogs.

  I was listening to a circuit overseer's talk and he mentioned about how a sister wanted to simplify. She had a couple of dogs. Then he related that she said that all she had to do was get rid of the dogs. I heard a gasp from the audience.

  I then thought that, if it weren't illegal, COs would encourage JWs to get rid of their children.

  What other things would they do if it weren't illegal?

  The safest, best answer to give is: Lately there have been so many breakin of houses and rapes, that I'm afraid that going door to door will cause others to think that we are a threat so I am afraid of that method.

  They may suggest, business or phone or mall.

  i just read an older post on this site that was recently bumped (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/6600/1/don-adams-biography) the post mentioned the adams brothers don, karl, & joel and how influential they are/were at headquarters.

  The GB are merely figureheads. When it was announced that magazine printing will be transferred from Wallkill to Canada, it was said that the GB approved that. What does the GB know or care about where magazines are printed? When I asked Witnesses that they said that the GB was the FDS and the printery was part of the master's belonging so they were appointed over it. But the fact is that the factory overseers make the decisions and then the president of the WTBTS approves it and the GB rubber stamps it.

  As to who runs the org: The captalization on the belief that it matters to God what people do and they must do things 'just so' makes it easy for people to come along and then to assume the position of the ones capitalizing. 'Hey there are gullible people out there who will do anything to save themselves, to see their dead loved ones, etc.' People are so tied to the adherance to a deity, they will do anything for that.

  Your final WTF? Moment!

  it was a long time coming for me.....when i read about the extened generations, after being raised on1914 being the be all end all, and millions would never die....that was the end.

  i was part of the 1975 fiasco, the 6 month only truth book studies, suffered through a disifellowshipping and their version of a rewind.

  i finally am free and hope others can eventually look in instead of inside looking out!

  Another moment for me was when the COs got the mandate to not write their own outlines for their talks but started using recycled assembly talks.

  The meetings became ultra tedious. What was once a special week now became recycled drab and guilting material. If COs can't be original, then what hope can any of us. What's the point of this at all. It is just an indoctrination session from the GB.

  My moments were when people rely on the WT for everything that they do, think and believe.

  The 2007 KM about study only their materials, then the 4/2010 KM about audio files. It is not about helping people but about dependance on the GB.

  Then I put together that they do everything for money - for example the constant deficits for the Circuit assemblies, the guilting of the people and what amounts to francise fees because of the donations of the WWW. Everything is designed to get people to the meetings, to be dependant on the arrangement, and then to donate.

  I became inactive when I concluded that field service is a complete waste of time. Do a little door to door, stop at break, then do a few return visits. What a waste of time and resources.

  The constant use of Bible characters as illustrations to where I got tired of the Bible.

  Then the 5/15/2012 W where it said that if one gets married to an unbeliever that one is disobedient to Jehovah. What does it mean to marry only in the Lord, to them? The person would have to study either the Truth book, or Live Forever, or Knowledge or Bible Teach books. All books written by the Watchtower Society. And then get baptized at Watchtower arranged assemblies, and then go to their meetings. That spells cult.

  One thing that annoyed me at the meetings was when a child commented and messed up and then people laughed.

  Atlanta Int Convention 2014:The Big Party. Does this look like WT believes Armageddon is coming "soon"?

  I was in Atlanta yesterday and the road that runs along south of the Georgia Dome is closed and the lots on both sides are under construction. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd is closed at the Georgia Dome. I wonder if it will be done in time but it will cause problems with the many conventions because there won't be busses or traffic going through there to drop people off.

That Assembly Hall had 2. The Water Dept denied their application for exemption on that basis. The Assembly Hall appealed the decision to the New York Highest court and they lost and were charged costs of the appeal.

  On June 15, 2005, the Executive Director denied the Church's appeal and confirmed DEP's determination.   He opined that in order for an organization to qualify for an exemption,

  “the premises must be used exclusively for a qualifying purpose, or if the premises is not used exclusively for a qualifying purpose, the non-qualifying portion must be separately metered.   For this premises, neither condition is met as the meter records consumption on both the part that may qualify (the assembly hall) and the non-qualifying portion (the additional caretaker apartment and two guest rooms).   A single room or a small apartment for a caretaker is considered incidental;  accommodations for an additional caretaker and two additional guests are not a qualifying exempt use.”

  He further advised the Church that it could pursue “the option of separately metering the water service to the non-exempt portion,” in which event “an exemption [might] then be applied for on the qualifying portion of the premises, and if granted, [would] be applied on a prospective basis only.”
