  Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.

  the difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.

  but i would say it's hard for brothers also.

  That is exactly the problem. Do not become unevenly yoked. But what if one does not like meeting or the service or other facets of the JW life?

  Find someone who is also like that. The problem is that people are encouraged to look for ones on a 10 on a spiritual level. But people don't advertise that they are a 2. People need to find ones whom they are compatible with and be happy, not focus on the things Shirley listed.

  Glaring discrepency in Blood Doctrine

  i found an article on the dr. sears website about the benefits of breasfeeding.

  according to the article it says: "a drop of breastmilk contains about one million white blood cells.

  " it also says "colostrum also contains higher amounts of white blood cells..........than mature milk.

  That is not the discrepancy. All meat has some blood in it. It is to be expected.

  The discrepancy is their saying that Jehovah values life, but he won't allow them to save it. They say they will be resurrected.

  And that has not happened.

  jehovah's witnesses teach worldwide that jesus arrived in 1874 1914.. i think i must have missed the wt explanation: why do we still celebrate the memorial of jesus if he returned already?.

  1 corinthians 11:26 "for as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the lord, until he arrives (erchomai).".

  let's break this down.. 1. jesus christ 'returned' arrived in 1914 (cause).. 2.

  The problems are:

  Who cares what Paul wrote? What makes him an authority on what we do?

  Where did he get his info?

  It seems that what Paul was saying is that they do this until they are with him. That is until they are resurrected to spirit life in heaven with Jesus.

  People back then had the misconception that Jesus arrives or returns, but in reality, those who are anointed, die and get resurrected to be with Jesus.

  They go to him, not he goes to us.

  He means that they celebrate the memorial until they go to be with Jesus.

  Genuine repentance - if you can fake that you'll avoid getting disfellowshipped

  to paraphrase a well known saying.

  is it true, in a judicial committee, if you can fake repentance, then they are likely to let you off being disfellowshipped, almost regardless of the "severity" of the sin involved?

  can former elders and perhaps victims of the process shed light on the matter?

  The USA is divided into 3 branches of government. Legislative, Executive and judicial. That is because any one branch can not be trusted with the power to do more. Balance of power and checkes and balances.

  However Jehovah is all three things. Lawmaker, King and Judge. That is because he can be trusted to be perfect.

  The elders are the lawmakers in that they make the rules on what can get one disfellowshipped.

  They are the executive in that they are the police and investigators of the "crimes", and then the prosecutors.

  They are the judges in that they decide guilt or innocence and then repentance within a JC.

  Those elders have no balance of power. Nothing to check their power.

  They have usurped Jehovah's position in being all and all powerful.

  Name a national known JW that is not a GB member and not Prince and is flourishing in the non-jw life.

  The often used illustration of a watch found in the desert. You know it didn't just appear there on its own. Someone had to make it.

  With creation also someone had to make it. But with the watch, if its not working, you can take it to its maker and he can fix it.

  With creation, with it not working can anyone call on the maker to fix it? They can call on him, and have been for millenia, but has he fixed it?

  While a supreme being created everything, that is not the problem. The problem is that he has left everything in a broken state for thousands of years unwilling to fix it.

  The excuse that is given is that man was given thousands of years to be allowed to try various governments. But that shouldn't stop God from acting. It is like the federal government having laws, but if the local or state governments doing something to violate those higher laws, the people can petition the higher government to fix it. When the national governments did things against God and people, people have petitioned God, to no avail. Man has done more to help man than God has done.

  "but what do you do with that scripture so far as not attending meetings?".

  i typed hebrews 10:25 in to the search bar but didnt get much.. .

  What authority does Paul have to give us commands?

  He got a vision of Jesus.

  But that didn't give him authority. It didn't change him, he changed himself.

  Another 607 / 587 BCE question, How do JW's fix the 20 years ??

  ok, since all the evidence and people/scholars etc, all agree that jerusalem was destroyed in 587/586 bce and not 607 bce.

  how do the jw's get the extra 20 years, i understand the 2520 years and going back from 1914. but alot of the proof goes by adding up the kings reigns, and it gets you to the 587/586 date, do jw's simply add on a few years for each king, or is their a mystery king that ruled for 20 years that only they know about.. hhhhhhmmmmmmm.

  hope my question makes sense.

  JWs didn't do that. It was Nelson Barbour who added the 20 years to make 70 years from 537 to 607 and made 607 when Zedikiah was captured.

  Russell just took his Chronology without question. But I see that so many of you are just as unenlightened on the subject.

  in an earlier thread, i mentioned that i wasn't a particularly doggy person but that my parents got a husky last year that i've come to regard as a kind of brother.. huskies superficially resemble wolves and for me it's been fun to compare and contrast husky and wolf behaviour.

  huskies howl but rarely bark, and seem to have a strong prey drive and a strong pack instinct - a nod to their wild cousins.

  this is why i love huskies, i think.. do you have a favourite dog breed and why?.
