i was a witness from grade school ( 1976) until 2007. i seem to remember an important aspect that was always talked about at the hall as being a fact.they would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all i've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.but i've not heard one rock crying .. .

"Rocks cry out" does not mean literal rocks. I believe it was refering to Gentiles or ones not God's people.

In Matt 3:9 he said "Do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones." Not literal stones, but he did raise up children of Abraham from gentiles.

2020 Memorial - No Need To Actually Have The Emblems

over at jw talk they're saying because they're having to hold the upcoming memorial at home, they dont need to actually have the emblems.

apparently, listening to or watching the talk is the thing that counts.. "do this in rememberence of me" apparently means watching tony morris on your phone give a talk.. this begs the question... "what's the point?

That's what I've always said. Jesus never told us, 20th century people, to keep doing that. He only told the 11 that were with him to do that in remembrance of him. We can't remember someone we have never met. We only read stories of him. So to remember him, we just reread the stories. And anyone can have bread and wine anytime of the night at home.

Yes, this is nothing new.

Jesus was not resurrected in his body. That was a sacrifice. If he were resurrected in it, the sacrifice would not be one.

And he did not ascend in a physical body otherwise what would he breath, or eat. How could he see or hear.

He was a spirit before he became a man. He was a man until he died. He was no longer a man after he was resurrected and returned to what he was prior.

it seems the news always has another report of a pedo stalking children or hurting them.

i know this has gone on forever but i read another report of an illegal alien with a history of abuse taking advantage of another poor child.. i just don’t understand why some people do this.

is there an actual brain abnormality?

A pedophile is someone that prefers children.

No one prefers children.

But actions with children happen because children are easier to manipulate than adults.

So logic dictates that the solution is for adults to make themselves available and children would be the less attractive choice.

this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

the watchtower has posted a news item on the coronavirus on their website and officially endorces the advice of who, the world health organization which is described by wikipedia as -.

the world health organization (who) is a specialised agency of the united nations that is concerned with world public health.

it was established on 7 april 1948, and is headquartered in geneva, switzerland.

Why do you complain about the UN?

The Watchtower has merely stated that the UN is the beast of revelation that is a combination of all nations and that it will be destroyed.

That does not make it any more evil than the nations themselves are. The nations are made up of people and have departments and do functions. Same with the UN.

So leave the UN alone. Stop attacking the Watchtower with an issue you do not understand.

Why do people keep arguing against the 144,000 in heaven? It is very clearly in the Bible that Israel was Jehovah's people for a purpose. Thus the 144,000 spiritual Israelites would serve that purpose in heaven. Arguing against that can't change because the whole laws and temple was about that. Not going to heaven is not a bad thing.
