The 6 days of Gen 1 were not about the time that God spent creating anything. Remember that it was written by Moses. It was all about him, not God.

Rekindled Light — The Narrative Structure of the Hexaemeron (Genesis 1:1–31)
by Mebaqqer2 ini used to comment here many years ago when i had an interest in biblical research in relation to jehovah’s witnesses.
these days my biblical research is little concerned with jehovah’s witnesses.
i feel my time is better spent researching the diachronistic development of the biblical text and ascertaining what the biblical writers and editors intended in the times in which they lived.. i have recently placed a summary diagram for a paper that i have written with original research entitled the narrative structure of the hexaemeron on academia.edu.

the toll of being PIMO
by enoughisenough infor those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?
is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?
how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?

"I now knew for certain in my mind that the GB are not who they claim to be. This is not a toll in fact it is the opposite it is such a relief and a huge weight lifted off your shoulders."
Back in the 80s and 90s, one could write the WTS and ask questions and they would write back. In the last 20 years if one writes, then they send the reply to the congregation's elders. It's like the GB is not humble enough to accept that non-Bethelites can have good ideas about the Bible too.

God, one person, or three?
by slimboyfat inthe trinity doctrine says god is three persons in one being.. yet the bible says god is one.. gal 3.20 a mediator, however, implies more than one party; but god is one.
niv.
gal 3.20 now a mediator is not for just one person, but god is one.

Vanderhoven said "JWs have an unrelatable Jesus that you cannot come to and share your burdens with"
Speak for yourself . JWs believe that Jesus is the one through whom we pray, and he is our priest that approaches Jehovah for us. We don't want a relationship with Jesus, we want one with Jehovah.

If one is good, two are better, why stop at 3? Why not 7 persons in one being?
The thing that they don't realize is that the trinity is something that they learn from their pastors who learn it from the council of Nicea, which was the man of lawlessness. It is not something that people learn from reading the Bible.
People will connect John 8:58 with Ex 3:!4 I wonder who came up with that? Paul was good at making such connections, but he did not make that connection.
The fact that Jesus was the priest and mediator between God and man shows he can not be God.
I really hate the word "Godhead'. What does that even mean? It shows that the KJV and its derivatives do not care about relaying proper meaning if they use words without a meaning.

Finger of God
by peacefulpete ina myriad (or close) of threads have discussed the depiction of deity in the ot and nt.
many exjws simply can't seem to wrap their minds around the concept of hypostases of god.
hypostases as i'm using the term refer to personified conceptualizations of divinity often acting in a particular role.

People need to remember that it is
The doctrines of Jehovah's Witnesses are correct. It is the organizational policies that people have a problem with.

Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? The recent changes and the Governing Body's 10 year plan
by redsetter2 ini am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.
the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.
i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

Banning blood transfusions is not following God's law. God's law only was for not eating or drinking blood. Neither the apostles nor the modern day governing body has the authority to expand that law to other means. Expanding laws is what the pharisees did and we know that Jesus did not approve of that.
The problem is that they painted themselves into a corner to where they can't change that without backlash.

Jeffro said "Why do you imagine that some random person who doesn’t accept all JW teachings (or even a substantial amount of Christian teaching) anyway should be the benchmark for caring about things related to JWs?"
Who is this random person?
Paul is not a JW teaching. Paul is another of the "No one ever got fired for buying IBM" excuses.
My point was that you all focus too much on the GB.

Why Do JW's Believe that Hell is Symbolic When the Disciples of the Apostles believed it Was Literal ?
by Sea Breeze inlooks like the early christians believed jesus when he warned about hell over 40 times.
why don't the jw's do the same?.
from “the epistle of barnabas” (70-130ad).

Vanderhoven said '"a physical body is required to feel physical pain"'
"Tell that to the rich man and the billions of human beings alledgedly burning in Hades as we speak."
The rich man was not real.
There is no one burning in sheol/hades/hell. Never ever has been.
Gen 37:35 Jacob said "I will go down into the Grave/sheol/hades/hell mourning my son!"
If that were a place of burning torment, why was he looking forward to going there?
Think about more than the cryptic statements of Jesus.

Why do we care what the Governing body does?
I'm not going to lower my standards just because they do.
I'm still not wearing a beard.
I'm still wearing a coat and tie to the meetings and field service, except I don't go out in FS.
I don't care about how to treat DFd ones because that was Paul's instructions to the Corinthians and I don't follow what Paul said.
So I ask, why do you all care when I don't?

New rules for dress & greeting disfellowshipped: It's even worse!
by neat blue dog ini know they're panicking and trying to gain favor with governments, former members, prospective converts & those who are teetering, all for financial worries.
still, the latest update in some ways made things worse, and if there's any jws watching it who are beginning to wake up it should be very disturbing.. starting with dress codes: they say that suits, ties & skirts are no longer required, but in so doing they admit that they were required, something not often appearing as an explicit command in print.
(similar to how lett referred to the "policy on beards" in his video, even though this direct policy wasn't made available to rank and file.

Why would people not want to dress up? What every happened to respect?
There does not need to be a biblical basis for dressing up.
Respect goes beyond the Bible.
