I never shunned anyone. If I didn't associate with them, it was because I didn't like them, not because I was told what to do. If I liked them then I would associate with them regardless.

How was it for you when you had to shun someone?
by Anator ini remember a good friend when i was in and active who was d'fd.
when he started coming back, for me at that time is was gut-wrenching not to say 'hello' or at the very least encourage him to continue.
i thought even at this time, does this act of shunning really effective?

Loesh does not take care of day to day activities of JWs. He is on the GB. He gave the proper principles. The people don't always follow it.
The guy making the video has a beard so he lost credibility and the woman is a piece of work herself.
This is a non-issue that they are blowing up.

Did Jesus really die on a cross?

when my family converted to this cult they were all removed and destroyed in case they had demons in them lol but at this juncture in my life i do not even know if jesus as the way he is portrayed in the bible was real.
yes a man named jesus did live and die 2000 years ago and probably on a cross but he was definitely not the son of god.

It was a tree trunk pole with both arms and hands above his head. A nail in each hand thus plural for 2 nails for 2 hands. Cross beams were not used especially if there were others also.

Their constant insulting of my intelligence woke me up.
For example back in 2009 my wife and I were talking to a Circuit Overseer around convention time. He had the outline for the one who gave the announcements. I wanted to see what it said at the beginning and whether the outline told the speaker to tell the people to listen to the musical interlude. I mentioned that I wanted to make sure it said it said that because the speakers get it wrong. Before it started it was a prelude; the interlude was between the sessions at noon. He went and got a dictionary to look it up, as if I can't be right and the convention outline writers can't be wrong. I always question everything I hear from the magazines and meetings, but for so long it was a case of where or whom shall one go to...

When a person wins $311 million dollars, rather than God or the angels helping needy ones win at each drawing, tells me that God is not looking for the interests of the poor. He could help make 208 - millionaires each year by helping the needy win at each Powerball and Megamillions win the minimum pots.
