We talk a lot about conditional friends on here
by cappytan inso, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.
real friendships aren't conditional.".
i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.

JWs don't have true friends because those friendships are conditional and depend on a person getting a certain number of hours in the ministry, meeting attendance or how one presents oneself at the meeting, -

Did Jesus really die on a cross?
by macys inbeing raised a catholic we had lots of crosses around the house.
when my family converted to this cult they were all removed and destroyed in case they had demons in them lol but at this juncture in my life i do not even know if jesus as the way he is portrayed in the bible was real.
yes a man named jesus did live and die 2000 years ago and probably on a cross but he was definitely not the son of god.

Depictions show that the upright and the cross beam are square in width and depth and perfectly flat. How could they get them that way back then? Did they have saws? Mills? They would have had axes.
They show the crossbeam as intersecting the upright. But how could it? It would have to rest upon the upright. Some pictures show it tied to the upright by rope. How solid would that be? It would tilt. I opt for one upright because it is easier.

How was it for you when you had to shun someone?
by Anator ini remember a good friend when i was in and active who was d'fd.
when he started coming back, for me at that time is was gut-wrenching not to say 'hello' or at the very least encourage him to continue.
i thought even at this time, does this act of shunning really effective?

I never shunned anyone. If I didn't associate with them, it was because I didn't like them, not because I was told what to do. If I liked them then I would associate with them regardless. -

Loesh does not take care of day to day activities of JWs. He is on the GB. He gave the proper principles. The people don't always follow it.
The guy making the video has a beard so he lost credibility and the woman is a piece of work herself.
This is a non-issue that they are blowing up.

"It says nails plural and the T shaped cross was often used back then."
It was a tree trunk pole with both arms and hands above his head. A nail in each hand thus plural for 2 nails for 2 hands. Cross beams were not used especially if there were others also.
I was there. I have pictures on my iphone alpha 0.00003 version

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

Their constant insulting of my intelligence woke me up.
For example back in 2009 my wife and I were talking to a Circuit Overseer around convention time. He had the outline for the one who gave the announcements. I wanted to see what it said at the beginning and whether the outline told the speaker to tell the people to listen to the musical interlude. I mentioned that I wanted to make sure it said it said that because the speakers get it wrong. Before it started it was a prelude; the interlude was between the sessions at noon. He went and got a dictionary to look it up, as if I can't be right and the convention outline writers can't be wrong. I always question everything I hear from the magazines and meetings, but for so long it was a case of where or whom shall one go to...

Here is the funeral talk outline. VERY discraceful.
by stillstuckcruz inthis is truly terrible.
i just love the statement "instead of eulogizing the deceased, use the material in this outline to give a fine witness concerning the truth.
" in other words, utterly disregard the deceased.

They say that it is meant to give a witness to the worldly family members and ones of the public. It is just a means of advertising or bring them in to where they would not listen prior. -

Perry said "Claiming that Jesus is Mediator for only the 144K in Revelation was an unknown "gospel" to the apostles"
What was the known gospel to the apostles?
crazyguy said "the good news of Christ 1 corinthians chapter 15, to profess any thing other then the goods news," What is the good news?
Those are vague and undefined tests.
