Jesus did not endure anything that thousands if not millions of his followers didn't endure for an entire lifetime.

He gave his blood? First he had to make his blood then he let someone shed it. Big Deal. Why didn't he just fix things the easy way and save everyone all the heartache. Remember God makes all the rules. So if he defines justice then who can question him? Who can question him now? If you believe in the God of the Bible then you believe that if I continue to oppose god then I will die and go to hell. Right? If God will draw the line someday and say "See, I told you it wouldn't work" Why couldn't he just say " Trust me, I know it all. It would never work" Then he could have just destroyed his defective creation and start over. If you were worried about the issue of the Right of Sovreignty...........He's the Almighty for Christ's Sake. He created everything. He has the right to do whatever he wants. Noone would have a problem with that as long as they had the threat of hellfire.

Human reason and logic cannot figure it out

What? Wasn't Adam made in God's image? Now we know that it wasn't physical. So, how WAS Adam in God's image? Surely God created us with at least enough intelligence to understand why we exist. Right?

Let's use some current events for the sake of arguement. Bin Laden didn't actually fly the airplanes into the WTC but does that relieve him of responsibility? No. Suppose President Bush knew that they were going to fly the airplanes into the WTC. If he did nothing to remedy the situation, do you think he would hold some responsibility? In my opinion he would be just as guilty as Bin Laden. We have laws in this country that say that if you do not render aid when you have the power to do so, you are committing a crime. Does anyone get this logic?

I know, I know, some will say that God will remedy the situation in his due time but I don't think that justifies all the millions of women and children who have suffered in wars that an Almighty God could have prevented but did not just to prove a point.

If there is a God like the Bible decribes (counting the hairs of your head because he cares so much for you) then justice would have condemned him by now for the failure to render aid to the millions who could have lived a happy life. Please don't use the arguement that God will resurect and reward those who suffered with a greater life in heaven. That makes as much sense as a wife beater taking his wife out to a nice dinner after beating her.

How Long???

i have been drifting for about 1 1/2 years now and was hoping that in a year or two i would have distanced myself enough from the org.

that i can actually start living my life exactly the way i want to...aka celebrating the holidays by putting lights on the house, not having to tell my daughter not to say anything about going trick or treating, getting birthday presents or going to cheerleader camp.

but i read some posts in the disfellowhiping thread started by somebody where people have been inactive for 3 years and are still disfellowhiped!

I just got a phone call from my uncle, who used to be an elder until he decided to have some fun, and he told me that one of the elders in my former cong. called to ask him if he knew where my sister works. (she is a dancer at a gentleman's club, aka stripper) She quit going to meetings about 2 yrs ago and they are still asking questions about her. They have not asked her directly.

I have only been out for about 1 1\2 yrs but they are still asking questions about me. Again, they have never had the guts to ask me directly. If it weren't for the fact we have family still in the borg we would say "F*** you and get lost". My parents are in thier 60's and my mom has cancer so I would like to be able to communicate with them for the last few yrs of their lives. Christmas is coming up and we do plan to celebrate discreetly. (keep the tree in my office just in case relatives come over).

Has anyone mentioned that it wasn't Adam who originally sinned? Remember that according to the story Eve not only caved to one simple arguement by Satan but SHE also went to Adam and convinced him to sin also.

Adam was created with the need for the woman and did not want to live without her. Sounds like men were created with a character flaw. (If you believe that story)

my wife and i met with 3 elders for a "judicial hearing".. our crime: simply put, was talking.

i showed a friend the un website where the wts was listed as an ngo which then led to a 2 hour discussion of various doubts that we both have had.

my wife also showed a friend the un thing but also discussed with her a first hand account of a pedophile cover-up that we knew about in our former congregation.

I guess there were no victims in the holocaust, right? They should have seen it coming and got out of the country, right? I guess there are no rape victims, right? They were just in an area they shouldn't have been or were dressed like they were asking for it, right?

If everyone believed that there are no victims then there would be noone fighting for justice. You say it's a fight that cannot be won and maybe you are right but IT IS A STILL WORTH FIGHTING FOR! When you get some balls and face some of these issues head on instead of running away then you will be able to feel some of the injuries expessed by these soldiers for truth and freedom. Until then, I personally, could do without your ignorant posts.

The three reasons we leave the "Truth"

seems to me there are mainly three roads most of us have taken.

1.we did something "wrong" and were disfellowshipped and after felt able to look at the society in a different light.. 2.we didn't like the "truth" and were looking for a way out.. 3.we wanted it to be the truth but were overcome by the mountain of evidence against it.. which is the most common i wonder.. also do our motives play a large part in how we deal with information criticising the org.. without a reason to act information seems useless.. for instance if a person feels he has nothing to gain by leaving the org will he read different things into the same info as us?.

i think so and that all who leave must have a reason to do so, something to gain.. this does not make their reasoning wrong or prove they we are looking for just excuse.. but is a normal way in which humans deals with information.. two humans can have the same information but if they want or desire different things they may use the information differently.. maybe thats wht so many say "where else is there to go?

Ok, 3 is about the closest. I'm just sorry it took me so long to find out! I wanted to do the "right" thing. I discovered contradictions in the JW teachings (1914). Then I found out that there is no "right" thing. I am much happier now than I ever was as a JW.

When did these Witnesses find out re UN?

one thing i've noticed about these witness admissions of and justifications for the society's 10-year association with the un is that in many cases, the speakers sound as if they have known about the situation for a while.. otherwise, how can they justifiably come across as so cocksure if they've only learned about it now?.

I no longer have my WT CDROM but I'm pretty sure that the UN is reffered to as "unclean". So even association just for information would be hypocritical.

Favorite Activity Since Leaving The Borg

just out of curiousity what would be your favorite activity?.

Wow! Someone else plays flag football. Collecting meteorites? It's amazing the things we come up with when we finally open our minds. I hope everyone looks back on their time as a witness and learns the value of freedom because we have seen a contrast that most in our country don't get to see. I felt the urge here to say exercise your freedom by doing something you couldn't but I can't do that. What I can say is "Enjoy your freedom even if that means that you are free to do nothing at all."
