Hey Skipper,
How about another debate. I'll play devil's advocate again......unless you want to do it. This could be fun. This time I want the judge on my side.

i've been depressed big time over all the fights, attacks, flame wars, bickering, complaining and what have you that seems to dominate the board these days.. i've just decided that there is no point in my bringing down myself any further and that i don't have anything of value to offer here, especially since it takes as much emotional effort to insulate myself from my friends behaving badly, that i just can't seem to offer much in the way of positive vibes.. i will check back some time (maybe a month or so0 down the road to see if this place has gotten any more mellow and friendly but until then.... hasta la vista and the best of luck to you.
any who wants can still drop me email.. goodbye,.

i'm not sure where we draw the line at fluff?
is it humor, sex, happy posts, personal experiences, life lessons?
who determines which post (or poster) falls into what category?
Bravo SW!!!!
I wanted to say the same thing but you said it so much better than I could.
I came from Timothy Campbell's board where I was constantly debating the issues and I came here because of the fluff. I was more of a community and made me feel normal again. I don't think it's healthy to dwell on the hateful things the Borg does, too much. We need to talk to each other about the changes we go through every day. Those changes aren't always about whether we believe the Bible or not. Sometimes those changes are how we feel about what color our kids snot or whether Brittany's boobs are real or not.
There are many things that I wasn't able to discuss freely for 36 yrs. To me, the fluffers are the most important posters. Someday I hope to be as caring, loving, entertaining and healing as the fluffers on this board.

lol no not in time-shares .
if you could vacation anywhere in time where would it be and why?.
and there would be no repercussions due to your interaction with other people.
I'd like to try the 80's for a week. I think it would be fun watching all the people walking around in tight shirts and short jogging shorts. Hearing Howard Jones and Wang Chung on the radio. I'd like to see Stevie Ray Vaughn live in a little club in Austin. I'd like to laugh at the TV shows like Chips and The Six Million Dollar Man.

fort worth a judge on friday raised bond to $250,000 for a nurse's aide charged with murder after a homeless man she hit died in her garage with his body lodged in her car's windshield.. chante j. mallard, 25, had been released on $10,000 bail after she was arrested wednesday.
but at a bond hearing friday, prosecutors said that amount was too low.. state district judge james r. wilson raised the amount and said ms. mallard must be under house arrest, wear an electronic monitor, continue counseling, avoid alcohol and undergo drug testing.
the judge also imposed a gag order in the case.. ms. mallard was charged with murder this week in the slaying of gregory glenn biggs, 37, a former fort worth school bus driver whose body was found dumped last october at cobb park on fort worth's south side.. "it truly is one of the most bizarre things i have ever seen," said fort worth police lt. david burgess, a supervisor in the traffic division.
Big boi,
Good question,
OK, so what if a person comes into my house and attacks me, and I kill them? Now, mind you it isn't an accident or something that just happened during a struggle, but I just upped and blew his head off with my 40 cal. as soon as I got the chance to. Would I be guilty of a hate crime? No, I don't think that would be a hate crime. That would be putting more value on your own life than on someone who could possibly take yours.
I do believe that the law's definition of 1st degree murder is sufficient to be called a hate crime.

Killing a person during a robbery is a hate crime. It doesn't matter. When you have the power to give life or take it and you choose to take it then you have committed a hate crime (IMHO). I define "hate" as the absence of love or caring. I don't believe that it has to be cultivated to be called hate. Her disrespect for human life is just as heinous as those boys in Laramie. No she didn't seek out this man but she killed him without regard for his life. That is hate in my book. I don't let the government define my moral and ethical values.......totally. I just disagree that there should be hate crime laws. It devalues the lives of those who were killed just because they were weaker than the criminal. It tells the mother of the little girl that was raped, tortured and murdered that somehow her child's murderer isn't as bad as someone who had done it for racial reasons. I don't think we should put different values on human lives. It is divisive.

So does your definition of a hate crime match the federal government's definition? Do you just accept that someone deserves to die twice because it was a "hate" crime? Every time you kill someone intentionally it's a hate crime. Every time.

I don't know if it's scientific or not but I have found that when my signifigant other is on the rag, I tend to get a little moody myself. Maybe that would explain a little more.
Yes ladies, that's right, I'm not always the perfect supportive gentleman that I appear to be. Sometimes I'm an asshole, for lack of a better word. But it's all my wife's fault. Her and that Damn Period.

You're missing the point. Hitting the man was not a hate crime. It was an accident. Leaving him to die a slow death on the windshield in her garage could easily be called a hate crime. Can it be proven? Yes! Anytime you kill someone, it's a hate crime. If the man had been black would she or one of her friends have called for help? I think it might have made a difference.
