interesting movie that culminates with babette cooking a sumptuous meal for a group of devout christians who feel guilty about enjoying anything because of the sinful nature of enjoyment and their fear that enjoyment of life now will diminish their eternal reward so they vow to each other not to show any signs that they are enjoying the meal.. i saw it the other night and it always reminds me of the witnesses i knew back in the 60s.

I would say that yes....in my book, Jws are Christians. I can see that you don't think so but.....They do try to worship God and follow the example set by the bible account of Jesus. So, yes, they are Christians. How do you define Christians?

I loved working by myself....I would walk slowly and deliberately but when I go to a not at home, I'd stay there at the door for a long time after I knew no one was coming. Call me selfish but I didn't want to do my fair share of knocking.

Maybe Jesus killed 2 trees. One one the way to the Temple Tirate and the other on the way home after he was really pissed when he found out the the merchants had permits and in order to get that changed he would have to attend a zoning meeting on the 15th of the next month.

i noticed that in the two creation accounts in genesis, the order of creation is not the same.
for instance, in account #1, animals are created before humans, and in account #2, animals are created after humans.. account #1. animals created gen. 1:21. humans created gen. 1:26. account #2. humans created gen. 2:7. animals created gen. 2:19. any comments on this?.

this is just for fun, but imagine if you will the following scenario.. the gb are dropping like flies and the remainder are desperate to find some replacements before the whole shebang is taken over by non-annointed ones.. news comes in of a middle-aged anointed bro who sounds as if he will fit the bill perfectly.
no-one at brooklyn has met him yet, so they send for him to be interviewed with a view to him sitting on the gb if approved.. on the flight to new york the prospective gb newbie suffers a heart attack, and as he expires he drops his wallet under the seat, the wallet also contains a letter with the details of his forthcoming interview.. by an amazing coincidence, the person sat immediately behind the victim is an active poster from jw discussion.
he spots the wallet, and upon reading its contents he decides that he will impersonate the defunct would-be gb member in the hope of eventually becoming part of the gb himself.
How about we choose a woman like say.......Island Woman who would have to dress and act like a man in order to fool the GB for a while. Then she would reveal herself after a year or so and shock the world.
