  i wonder if anyone can explain this.

  ezekiel 34:25 says .

  and i will make a covenant of peace with them, and i will rid the land of vicious wild beasts, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forests.. the land is said to be rid of vicious wild beasts, so why does the watchtower picture in the new pure worship book show a large predatory cat on the tree in this picture?

  First off, as far as what the Scripture states and what the WTS artist painted, their is no basis to paint this cat in the tree. The Scripture states that Jehovah will rid/cause to cease the wild beasts from out of the land. So that cat (wild beast) should not even be depicted in the picture.
  

  Second, that context of that verse is not talking about actual animals as being the wild beasts, it is referring to men, the evil shepherds that do harm, that they will no longer be there. (be gotten rid of/cease from out of the land)

  negative talk and criticism

  When they say negative talk and criticism they actually mean anyone that points out that one of their (WTS/GB) teachings are incorrect. I have personally in the past week just asked a pimi husband and wife if they could explain to me about the teaching of the WTS stating that the 70 years are from 607- 537.

  I said , I am willing to accept that 537 is the 70th year, I just needed to know something first since we are told to make sure of all things before accepting as true. I asked if 537 is the 70th year then that would mean that 539 is the 68th year and according to the WTS, Jehovah called Babylon to account in 539 and according to the Bible Jehovah said he was going to call Babylon to account when 70 years have been fulfilled.

  I simply asked based on that did Jehovah call Babylon to account when 70 years were fulfilled as he said he would or did he jump ahead of his own timetable by two years and call them to account when 68 years were fulfilled?

  I went on to show the following:

  [11-15-98 WT – We know that Jehovah is the Great Timekeeper, and we have confidence that he never fails to fulfill his purposes at his appointed time.]

  [Jeremiah 25: 11 And all this land will be reduced to ruins and will become an object of horror, and THESE NATIONS will have to serve the king of Babylon for 70 years.”’ 12 ‘But when 70 years have been fulfilled, I will call to account the king of Babylon and that nation for their error,’ declares Jehovah,]

  [8-1-81 WT p. 27-28 – “The idol-worshiping Babylonians now were in line for God’s judgment to be executed upon them. That happened in 539 B.C.E. when Babylon was overthrown by the Medes and the Persians.”]

  And I kid you not, this is part of the reply I got for asking that:

  I do not wish to receive any more questions from you because I don’t feel they are really questions.. It may not be how you intend it but your questions to me seem more like negative accusations of incorrect teachings.

  They often pose as sincere Witnesses who just have questions or concerns. And some who aren’t really apostates can cause just as much trouble as the apostates do by their negative talk and criticism. - David Splane

  [12-15-96 WT - In one Christian family, the parents stimulate open communication by encouraging their children to ask questions about things that they do not understand or that cause concern.]

  [6-1-00 WT - Encourage the student to ask questions and to tell you when he does not fully understand some point.—Mark 4:10; 9:32, 33.]

  They supposedly encourage their children and students to do exactly what they really don't want them to actually do.

  It's VERY DIFFICULT for some JWs to accept the Truth-------But for other not so much------WHY?

  what is it about some jws that they can't see the flip-flops of the wt's changing doctrine?.

  some of the flip-flops involved the death of many of it's members, and it was not even biblical based.

  yet for some reason they can't seem to grasp the significance of the matter.

  Silly you for trying to show him what the Bible says, they don't care about the Bible, they only care what the WTS publications say...so you should have shown him this:

  i was raised believing i was very fortunate knowing i had the truth.

  i was groomed to be an elder.

  i figured if mother said something, even if i couldn’t totally understand it, it was correct because mother knows best.

  Saw this statement on another topic from a day ago from Rocketman123:

  In a attempt to whitewash over its past, the GB heads today are creating new lies to cover over the organization's past lies.

  It's a little eerie how accurate that statement is giving the fact that it was not said with Ezekiel 13:1-16 in mind.

  For a name of minimus, you seem to start the most topics. I think you start a new one every 6 minutes...maybe change your name to maximus. :)

  Anyway, to your topic... for anyone that did think that JW's were the so-called One True Religion...if you no longer think that, why is that? The One True Religion...or God's people are said to have stupid prophets, that are visioning untruth and that are divining a lie, in the intimate group of God's people.

  The lies/untruth that these stupid prophets speak they claim it is the utterance of Jehovah by means of HIS organization. The main lie that they teach is that Jehovah has already set matters straight with his people claiming “There is peace!”

  In order to keep the lie of 'peace' already between God and his people they have to keep telling more and more lies which Jehovah as likened to a partition wall that has to keep being plastered with whitewash to keep it intact.

  1914 and the return of Jesus is needed to support that they were judged in 1918 and appointed as the slave in 1919. And of course they need 607 to arrive at 1914 and so on with all the other lies to support such, but it ALL comes down to 1919 and claiming that there is peace since then.

  Be like the Beroeans referred to at Acts chapter 17 and verses 10 and 11 Let’s read that. Acts 17:10,11 “Immediately by night the brothers sent both Paul and Silas to Beroea. On arriving, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they accepted the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily [carefully examining the Scriptures daily] to see whether these things were so.”
  Now, Paul compares the Beroeans with the Thessalonians. What do we know about the Thessalonians? They didn’t have YouTube in those days, but at one point, the Thessalonians apparently heard a rumor that “the day of Jehovah” had arrived. Who circulated the rumor? An apostate? Maybe. But maybe it was just someone who had heard the rumor and passed it on without checking it out.
  Have you ever done that — passed on a report without checking the facts? I think all of us have to admit that we’ve been guilty of that at one time or another. But now, how did the Thessalonians react? They were alarmed. They were “quickly shaken from [their] reason.” We mustn’t let that happen to us. When you hear something, check it out; don’t just circulate it; don’t just believe it; check it out.

  That's great advice David...all active JW's should listen to and follow that!

  What Will Happen If You Do NOT Get The Covid Vaccinations?

  we are encouraged to all, if possible, get the vaccinations.

  if you don’t, we are told that we definitely could get the virus.

  fair enough.. but what happens if you decide you aren’t going to get the shots?

  Of course surface transmission exist. Why do you think that on top of the six feet distance that they stopped shaking hands and went to stupid fist and elbow bumps. If it is on your hand and you touch your face you can get it. If it is on your hand and you shake someone's hand it can get on their hand and then when they touch their face they can get it. Hence, the not shaking hands and told to wash hands often. This has always been the known norm for all viruses and germs in general.
