any organizion that has the total control over the people that they do even their very private lives would be classed as a cult

Barb Anderson's Court Hearing Update
by AndersonsInfo ingreetings from tennessee.
thank you for your inquiries regarding the barbara anderson vs. watchtower tennessee appellate court hearing, which took place on thursday, april 14, 2005. accompanied by steve and joy imhof, from panama city beach, florida, and our attorney, jerre hood, from winchester, tennessee, we drove to nashville to attend the 1:00 p.m. scheduled appellate hearing.
this hearing was requested last year by defendants in the case, and they are: the numerous corporations of watchtower bible and tract society; watchtower spokespersons, j. r. brown, and david semonian, and certain elders of the manchester, tn congregation of jws.

Did your responsibilities in the congregation prevent you from travelling?
by truthseeker inif you were a ministerial servant, or an elder, did your congregational responsibilities hurt your travel plans?
did you go to the meeting instead of going out with other witnesses for a vacation?.
did you say, "i'm taking out the group" or "i'm doing the sound" ?.

thank you, thank you , thank you for that information I briefly glanced through that page on Saturday and missed it in my disgust,so I have re read it. the fact he was kicked out of the United States showes it must have been going on for a long time,as the article says he came to Bundaberg as part of his religion and the Wittness were to call him if they needed him which makes me think he may be part of the liasion commitee any thoughts on that .this artical will be well used.

I have just missed my fourth memorial and each one gets easier ,having spent over thirty years in the organization leaving is the best thing I ever did,the guilt is gone now and that is the worst thing I had to overcome.

I hope this memorial doesnt backfire ...........
by fleaman uk inwell, ive decided to go tomorrow night after all.not to my local cong but another one in the city where i have a very good friend and a few distant family members.i dont agree with much of the orgs teachings or promotions, but i do believe in jesus and really just have a very, very powerful urge to pay my respects to him.. i have been telling my "worldly"girlfriend about the religion and naturally, she is quite interested as this was part of my life since an early age.. blow me down she really wants to come with me!so when she walks into the hall tomorrow and gets a very warm welcome it will possibly shock her, after some of the stranger stories i have told her about the faith(vague stories including no xmas, disfellowshipping,no after school activities etc).i have told her that the welcome she receives will be warm and imho genuine too.she is quite a spiritual person anyway and will enjoy the occasion.. my worry would be that she will enjoy it too much and go to a follow up.it is quite probable.she has never had anything to do with jw,s before, till going out with yours truly .. i,m interested in your comments?.
thanks for listening.
