Hello??
by franticfran ini have just joined this website and just wanted to say hello to anyone out there.
i am so nervous, after thirty odd years in the "truth" i feel as though my husband and i have just walked into a room full of smiling strangers and we are just standing here hoping to god someone will come up and speak to us.
scared and excited and hoping to wake up one morning and not wonder what we do now???

Welcome franticfran!! It's so great that you made it here. All the suggestions everyone has made will really help. So sad that you had to go through all of this. I usually take comfort in knowing that everyone has had difficulties to overcome, whether it be the WT or something else. And now that you're out, you can read and take advantage of whatever resources there are.
I'm pretty new here as well. Though I left the org. many years ago, I find it useful to know what's going on in the org. because most of my family are still in. And most everyone here is just wonderful!
Again, welcome. I'm so glad you made it!

Hubby and Wifey saying Hi
by free and happy inso where do you start?.
i've been reading peoples experiences for several months now trying to figure out what i want to say but how do you put your whole life into a few words?.
i was a born in but have been happy and free for 5 years and luckily for me my husband felt the same way and we have freed our children from being brainwashed.

Welcome to you both. I wish I could give you both a hug. So sad you were treated so poorly.
I'm new here as well, but have been out of TT for quite a few years. Again, welcome!

Fading
by compound complex init is not chains that bind me to the position i now hold .
and, that, for a lengthy time now.. i stand motionless, my eyes peering through dark curtains, they fixed steadily upon cheerful passersby on the street below my third-storey bedroom window.
by their simply being out and about in the daytime sun i perceive that, in contrast to my placid self, these happy souls are at peace with the world.

Fantasy "Forbidden Fruit" Ex-Witness Party
by CaptainSchmideo inif you could get all willing participants on this board together in one area for a party, and told them to bring favorite music, food, movies, and dressed in certain fashion, all of which has been discouraged or outright banned either by the wts or by their flunkies (do, co, elders, busybodies in the hall, etc.
), what would you bring?.
i would bring:.

Count me in on giving thanks. Maybe Blondie or Mouthy could say grace.
We should vote on everything.
I'll spike up my black/purple hair, and dust off my boots, bring my Barbie, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, REM's Losing My Religion and I might just curse once or twice. -

Not sure what to do next
by magotan ini'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.
i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.
i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.

I hate this. I keep deluding myself into thinking I can stay.
Welcome magotan, you've come to a good place. You sound very intelligent. It's natural to want things to stay the same. We all resist change. Follow what gives you joy.

My Dad's story
by coffee_black infreedomlovers post about her dads letter got me thinking about my dad, in fact, it sounds like it could have been written by my dad.
every once in a while it really hits me that he is no longer here to talk to.
unlike most of you, i wouldnt have been afraid to approach him with questions or doubts.

How beautiful. Thanks for sharing Debbie. In many ways I admired my dad as well, because he seemed to really think about things. But your father was amazing. So wonderful that he stood by you and knew what family is. Wow, so nice.

Hi! I'm New Here
by alecholmesthedetective inhi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.
i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.
for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

Welcome Alec, I'm glad you were able to see that tt isn't really.
