do you hate jehovah's witnesses?

since becoming a member of this board, it has often come.

Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to hate. One mind-control slogan being: "You must hate what is bad". To a large extent I reject the hate doctrine along with all the other soul destroying nonsense the Watchtower promotes. Hate has a place but if dwelt on is a destructive emotion and can damage it's host. A few years ago, when asked if he hated anyone, the Australian Prime Minister (Bob Hawk) described hate as the most corosive thing in human relationships.

Though I despise the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and everything it stands for, I have no ill feeling toward most JW's as individuals but great empathy for those leaving.

Hi Sam,

Simon started this site as a peaceful place for respectful discussion between jws no matter what their current status. It's quite remarkable that in light of the issues being discussed it's largely remained that way.

Inevitably 'apostate' truth permiates all discussions here. I've seen sites try to hold back the flood of freedom but they end up so heavily censored as to be meaningless and little more than watchtower mouth pieces.

Is there a bird watcher in the house?

this evening i went for a walk near the mouth of the bega river, several kilometres from my place.

i enjoyed the peace and took a few photos.. for several years the pelicans here were my concern (keeping an eye on them and occationally capturing them to remove fish hooks and the like.

while there a duck billed mud stinky arrived.

Yes Mary the King Parrots are remarkably friendy bird. Like many animals in the wild you can't approach them as much as they'll come to you. There's a very friendly one here that loves women .. if he sees a woman in passing, he'll wheel aside from his mates and start chattering. The latest science is showing that birds are second only to man in IQ and language is hardwired in their brains like us.

PS: Hey Stephanus, I'm a wombat expert .. if womabts could fly I'd be an expert of marsupial aviation

mine's a toss-up.

baking powder <i use calumet>1/2 tsp.

salt1/4 cup sugar <optional>1/4 cup vegetable oil or shortening <crisco>1 egg1 cup milk preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Tigerman, I wish I were fixing a feast this year, but it'll probably be a quiet one with Crabby Pants and me.

Deep Southern Crabbie Pants:

Ingredients:

1 cup of cider vinegar

4 tablespoons of salt

1 stick of celery, an onion and 3 lemons

4 - 5 gallons of water

1 dozen fresh Blue Swimmer Crabs

5 gallons of water

1 pair of jeans or pants of a strong material

Method:

Tie off leg ends and pack pant legs, crotch and butt zone with whole crabs, celery, onion and lemon chuncks and some crushed red pepper, bring a large copper pot to the boil, add salt and vinegar. Lower in crabby pants, cover and boil for 25 minutes .. serves 'em right

so my wife just got a job at a huge company where a witness friend works.

we only have 1 car... well my friend cant carpool with my wife to work because it would be imporoper for a man and a woman to be in the car alone.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im so frustrated.

it seems to me a common misconception amongst ex- jehovahs witnesses is that there will one day be an issue arises so big that it will pull the rug from under the watchtower bible and tract society bringing the whole edifice crumbling down.

revelations come and go, apostates jump from one hope to another.

expose after expose fail to cause more than a ripple on the tranquil jw pond.

G'day Minimus, I agree JW's are cocky, piety comes with the territory map. But does watchtowerism attract cocky people or are they bent that way by their clarity of belief? My parents were sucked in by the resurection and paradise earth doctrines. They were pretty vain people I guess and the thought of perfect bodies enjoying natural 'fleshly' pleasures forever had strong appeal. They were uneducated, low on societies totem pole and looking for a simplistic solution to lifes questions. It's a good point you've made. 'low self-esteem' may well be the wrong way of seeing people like that. Low status and looking for a fast track up might better describe them.

I see tribes everywhere and power is the biggest game in town.

SWIMMING WITH COPS

One day after coming home from, I was about to go for a swim. I left my apartment door open and window. Computer was on, wallet laying out, passport, keys, dvd player, everything! Then suddenly I noticed these (State/Provincal Police) start coming around. Now I was already too far away to shut my door and close up. The Police already started to enter my room! Understand this in 3rd World countries. If the Police or Gov’t want something they usually take it. You may have to pay to receive your own property back!!! That’s the way it is. Now I do not know if they are here for a bribe from me, the manager or for a beach break… So they keep coming, and coming, around 30 or so. I’m thinking, (“How can I protect my things, and make these guys happy?”)
