  Goodbye, and Thanks For All the Fish......

  dear all,.

  it is with much regret that i have decided to leave jw.com.

  it is not a decision i have made lightly, in fact i had been thinking about it for many weeks now.. i am leaving because i cannot be a part of a forum that condones abuse and deliberate offensiveness towards other posters.

  Condolences

  i want to take this opportunity to express my love and thanks to all of you who have generously offered to support me during this time in my life, both financially and emotionally.. i haven't been in a position to respond to any of my e-mail yet, but i promise i will do so soon.

  i read the eulogy for my father i posted here to my mother and she clarified a few points and told me that she would like to have it read at my father's memorial service!.

  for those who have expressed a desire to sent flowers or cards in behalf of my father and his family, you can do so at the address below.

  Eulogy for My Father

  on tuesday, august 4, 2001 at 3:42.a.m.

  mst, duane floyd checketts, 77 died in his sleep due to complications from pneumonia.

  he is survived by his wife bette and two children, douglas checketts, patty smith, and 8 grandchildren.. duane, who was fondly called duke by everyone who knew him was born in farmington, utah on march 8, 1924. his father floyd, was one of 10 children raised in a tiny house built by his own mormon father who immigrated in the early 1860's from birmingham, england.

  its been a while since i read stephen r. covey's _the 7 habits of highly effective people_ and i do not feel like looking up the section i am getting ready to mention.

  but i think i recall covey talking about the unhealthy habit of becoming overly engrossed in one activity or pursuit.. it seems that there are individuals using this medium of communication whose life's aim is to "help" jws out of the "borg" or 'bring down the tower.

  if it tricks your trigger, i guess there is nothing anyone can do to prevent you from "helping" jws out of the "borg.

  LOL Don, thanks for the reply. So a man can groap about in the dark and stumble on the truth eh? A bit like men in ages past locking themselves away in caves without food or light for set periods - apparently one sees angels after a few days. If ones lucky one might even hear God himself whispering instructions (as per the messianic habit of conversing with Satan half starved in wild places. ;)

  Covey had wisdom? That'd be a first for an American Evangalist. Please feel free to post some of his pearls (in my experience anyone can do one liners that sound good but to be truly wise one must start with a basis in fact .. then again for all I know you may think Venus hosts dinasaurs and earth ran out of useable oxygen in 1986.

  You're a funny bugger Dunnyman and should have a lot of fun here, don't let it interfere with yer placard preaching though .. the end is nigh, the days are last and Jesus appointed Judge Rutherford over all his truths. (as per watchtower doctrine)

  Hang on! Someth'n's not right here - Bro Dun Scott posts faining dismissattude at those shedding light into the Watchtowers deep dark dungeon yet he sings the praises of some money mad capitalist prick promoting 'success' as something to be bought and traded about like a pigs belly. Mark my words - someth'n's amiss with this kilt wearing haggis basher. Has he really the stomach to argue with those now free of the Towers dark foul air breathing the sweet air of survival eyes praising the stars clear above.   Yes of course, human nature being what it is some folk here are abscesed with bringing down the lunatic Watchtower leadership and giving it's psycophantic followers a thunderbolt of reality where it does the most good (betwixt the earlobes wherein a cell or two might regain consciousness, AWAKE! the brain from it's watchtower induced slumber and propell the recipient headlong into the land of the living in freedom of the sons of Gosh who cares! .. Life is good .. short but good for all those willing to take the plunge, forget the cult indoctrination and negative vibes about being no good carries of Adams fallen genes, trust God, Nature and most of all their own inate goodness.

  Sure, many are stuck in the cycle of revenge and counterattack against the doomesdaymen who so callouslly trampled on thier lifes and made them Hell. Then again most are here partime and a guy needs a hobby. (as recommended for those with doubts by the evil mind control freaks of the WBTS circa 1982 .. I can't remmember the exact article, I've had a full life since then

  Got any hobbies Dunscot? (Apart from making an arse of yourself complaining about the good guys that is.)
