four women have contacted police after being persuaded to stand topless in their windows or balconies so that a satellite could give them a mammogram.. the women, aged between 19 and 45, living in the algarve, southern portugal, were all contacted by telephone by a woman claiming to be a doctor.. she told them that a revolutionary method had been developed of conducting breast examinations by satellite.. they were told that the consultation would be free if they followed instructions by stripping to the waist and standing in view of the satellite.. one woman was so trusting that she took off all her clothes for the "examination".. later, the women were telephoned with the alleged results of the examinations.

Does being called an 'apostate' upset you?
by wholewheat indo all of you ex-jehovah's witnesses get upset when you are called an apostate?
you all call each other apostates, so why should you all get upset if i call you apostates?
if you don't like being called 'apostate', what title would you prefer?

I just don't care anymore, if they want to feel more righteous by calling me names, go for it. I only have an Aunt and a couple of cousins who are JWs, all the rest of my family who were faithful JWs are dead. If they don't like me as one who has seen the light, that is their problem.

Ideas for merchandise
by Simon ini think i mentioned this some time ago but never had time to do anything about it.
i'm thinking of offering merchandise on the site for a bit of fun and also to help with the site expenses (although i don't expect it to generate a huge amount).
i think catchy logo's and phrases are the best.

My son died of Luekimia been there read
by rekless infirst of all there are several different types of leukemia.
danny had acute lymphatic leukemia, he became ill at two years old...this was in 1972... he lived for 16 years died two weeks after he graduated from high school.. now...he never had an ounce of blood during the 16 years of treatment.
he underwent chemo theropy.. this was the worste class of childhood leukemia at that time.. this form was considered cured if the child remained in remission for five years...there was a 50-50 chance of those that had lymphatic leukemia would be cured by the 1980's he fell in the class that did not.. for five years he would be in remission then the drugs stopped working and he would have to under-go another type og chemo.

Sorry to hear of your pain. I'm sure it is unique to each one of you and also similar. My wife's mon and dad lost four children. One he ran over with a truck himself, he never really recovered from that and drank too much the rest of his life, died at 91. His oldest son died while driving the same truck, there was some suspicion that he was murdered, since some way he fell out of the truck while driving and the boys with him couldn't explain exactly how it happened. Another died in his mothers arms after taking some type of medicine and the other shortly after birth. I don't think I could have endured all of that bad luck.

I just can't stay away
by truthseeker1 inhey guys, i know you are probably sick of me coming and going, but i just can't stay away.
every time i talk to jws about my problem, they tell me i need to study more and stay away from here.
but i just can't stay away...i'm interested in things said here, the openness things are discussed.

Hi TruthSeeker,
I understand your feelings, I was in about the same situation when I discovered H2O, hence my screen name Undecided. You really don't need a person to explain what the JWs beleive, it's all printed in their literature and if an individual deviates from it they will be kicked out. The problem here is, what time period should you believe their literature, since it constantly changes and if you have been out for several years you have to relearn the new light. That should show you it is man made and not God inspired. So the JW religion is like all the rest of man made ideas. So we should develop a philosophy that is good for all humanity, not condeming all but ourselves.

this is kind of strange, everyday i find a penny, on a parking lot, floor of a store, driveway, or whatever.
yesterday i hadn't found any money, i didn't think about it until i started to get in bed.

When I visit my daughter Lisa, I see coins laying all over the house and in the yard. I don't know why they don't appreciate it. I quess they owe so much that it just seems useless.

This is kind of strange, everyday I find a penny, on a parking lot, floor of a store, driveway, or whatever. Yesterday I hadn't found any money, I didn't think about it until I started to get in bed. I had turned the covers back earlier and went to the computer to browse this place. When I went to bed there was a penny lying right where I was going to lay down. My wife swore she didn't put it there. Just a few minutes ago I was at the little JMart and there was my penny on the floor. Do you think something is trying to tell me I'm not worth 2 cents?

WHY D.A YOURSELF??

this is a question for those that have dissasociated yourselves, and it might seem really stupid.. a while back i had a conversation with my parents in which i claimed that if i had ever been baptised i would have certainly dissasociated myself.
i asked whether or not they would still have contact with me.. they said yes, but would avoid having me at family gatherings.. i was not happy with this, but at least it was'nt as bad as shunning.. despite my standing now, my parents are now starting to get over it, and have been great, i cannot imagine my parents shunning me, despite anything i am still their daughter.

I have been out for many years, but would attend the memorial at times. I haven't been to any meetings for several years. I attended a church with my wife for a while, just wanted to see what they had to offer and someone told a JW that I had joined the church. The elders stopped by to check this out and when I told them I hadn't joined but was just checking out religion in general, they just said to send a DA letter if I decided to join another church, then they left. Haven't heard anything since.

Amazing coincidence ... what are the odds!
by Simon ini saw this on a tv programme a year or so ago and thought of it today for some reason:.
a wages clerk at a small company was working on the payslips when she noticed a mistake with one of the employees wages.
as it was his day off but the wages had to be paid into the bank that day she decided to ring him up to check on whatever the problem was.. he answers the phone and she says "hi" and starts to explain the problem.. for some reason though, he is amazed and keeps asking how show knew he'd be there !?.

There are so many coincidences that happen. I was talking to a guy at the R/C flying field here in NC and somehow I mentioned going to the flying field in Colorado Springs CO. As we talked he had worked for my former father in law who lived there. They were good friends and he told me of his death not long ago.
My brothers former boss was flying on a plane out west and having a conversation with a guy next to him and my brothers name came up and he knew my brother when he lived here years ago.
