I my case I didn't feel I had power, just responsibility to do so damn much I didn't have time for my own life. I would have gladly given my PO position to any one who had the ability to take it on.

most of the people i knew as witnesses were nice people with genuine motives.. in fact those with obvious personnallity flaws, would not , in my congregation anyway , be made servants or elders.. but i wonder did the postion attained in the org actually change the people who were chosen?.
does the extra respect , power and aurthority over others cause changes in a person makeup they can not help?.

Hi Prisca,
To step down as an elder was the easiest thing I ever did. I was so happy to get out of all that work and responsibility and get a real life.

i say this because half the witnesses i knew never seemed to be into answering at meetings, preaching the good news, being united with others.you see when i got baptised which was about 2 years ago i was really into answering at meetings, preaching etc and guess what people in the hall thought there was something wrong with me,they would say things like youll get used to it, you wont be happy much longer, this made confused because i thought these people were really into what they did with there hearts.i was obviously wrong,i then started to wonder does going to meetings, preaching, etc really show your a true christian you know serving god with a whole heart, all these organised rules didnt really matter i thought, you see if these people had do bible research, arrange the preaching themselves do you think they would do it.i now believe that serving god through organisations doesnt really make you closer to god i think serving god on your own really shows ones heart condition and how much you love god.
p.s.
im not a" jw no more" and still working out religion etc, i do swear and lie now though lol
Hi Perspi,
When you say we are out what does that mean, out of what? The self righteous organization? An organization is just a group of men who control the collective group of people who agree to be controlled by them. With the record of prophetic failures of those self aggrandized men, I'm glad not to be associated with the organization, it's only going to get worse.
The bible doesn't say to be saved by an organization but only through Christ, but I don't believe that Jew, who some claim was a human offspring of God and a woman. He was just making claims like so many other humans have done to having all the answers of life.
I think we all must arrive at what life means to us and our relationship to a creator is personal, between you and it, him or whatever. No one has any proof that he is right other than his imagination. Of course many just let a book or religion make their decision for them and blindly follow along, it's just so much easier that way, you don't have to think on your own and you develope a comfort zone. That's OK if you like it that way, but you have no more answers than anyone else.

i was at the jmart a few minutes ago and talked to an old brother that my family was very close to many years ago.
he had two sons that my brother and i grew up with until we were in our teens.
my dad and mother were good friends with them.
Hi Jim,
She was married to him and living with him when he died. I was married to my first JW wife and still a JW, giving funeral talks. I was divorced by my wife a year or two later and moved back to where my present wife lived. We met again and I fell for her.

Hi All,
I was at the JMart a few minutes ago and talked to an old brother that my family was very close to many years ago. He had two sons that my brother and I grew up with until we were in our teens. My dad and mother were good friends with them. My mom and dad are dead but they are still surviving, in their late 80s. My daughter married his sisters grandson. It's strange that I never knew he had a sister untill I attended her funeral and they were there. She wasn't a JW but was married to a preacher, I guess he didn't associate with her because of this and never mentioned her. It's quite a coincidence that my daughter married one of his relatives.
Another coincidence, I was conducting a funeral the same day and in the same funeral home that my current wife's husband's funeral was being held. I had worked in the same building and company as her. I was married at the time and would never have guessed that I would be married to her in a few years. Strange how things work out in life.

on one of your posts you say the we operate with false assumptions.
it seems to me that one of your assumptions is false, to wit, the wt is god's organization.
again, somewhere you wrote that the jews were no longer god's people when jesus arrived.
Since YK is the only anointed that has the TRUE understanding of scriptures, then how can one person be God's organization?

once morning while on a business trip to south africa, i turned on the television in my hotel room to catch up on the local news while i prepared for my day.
instead i hit upon one of the most mesmerising,thought-provoking sermons i've ever heard.
delivered by a young black preacher it focused on jesus' parable of the talents (matt: 25) and its lesson for us all.
Hi Ozzie,
I remember being at the assembly at Kansas City, back in the sixties, and there was a young sister who was playing the piano in the orchestra for the assembly, who at break time was playing classical music on the piano. Several of us were standing near the piano listening to her play, she was really great. Everyone by the piano was really impressed by her talent. I think she was studying music at college. Times sure change in the org.

i am a young anointed, with a heavenly calling, but it is only an invitation, for " many are invited, but few chosen" matthew 22:14 .
we have to endure to the end to receive the promises, that those with "patience and faith inherit the promises.
" hebrews 6:12 .
I have a few questions about taking humans to make spirit creatures. How do you become a spirit with the attributes of your human personality, such as faithfulness, love for God, memory of human life, etc? Do you have some spirit entity that transferrs to your new spirit body, or does God create an entirely new creature? If this is the case why brother taking humans. If the doctrine of JWs about the soul is true then there is nothing that passes over from the human side to the spirit side that is alive with memory or personality. If we don't all have some spirit entity that passes over after death then all resurrected ones are really a new creation of God.
Perhaps we have something like a hard disk drive in a computer that is transferred to the new computer and therefore has all the info. of the old one.
Such a bunch of imaginative hope, to try to eliminate the reality of death and nothingness.
