I wonder if humans are a bigger deal to God than a dog, cat, horse, spider etc. He hasn't revealed himself to us anymore than to them.

if all we have to worry about is nonexistence, then why worry about anything?
the worst that can happen is you peacefully sleep, forever.

Life doesn't suck, death sucks!!!

referring to the excellent "kitchen" witness scene in gregbetre's thread regarding jw's denying the deity of the christ, i do have one question..... .
rev 1:8; 17-18; 22:13 states that jesus christ is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, and the beginning and the end.
i don't think it is true that all jw's will say that rev 1:17 refers to jehovah.
Hi Trotafox,
If Christ is God, then the whole idea of the ransom goes out the window. Could God give himself to himself as a ransom? Does he talk to himself like on the cross when he said,"Why have you forsaken me? It makes no sense, like most of the other doctrines of Christendom.

PS: You could just say it is a mystery, like most of the ones I have talked to before. And you would be right, God is a mystery!!!
.
are born agains qualified to help jw's?.
i don't think so.sorry if you are one i have nothing against you personnally, nor jw's come to think of it, but offering your version of truth to jw's is for them to jump out of the frying pan into the fire.. the bible is the root of jw problems , and following that book in which ever way you wish will always be in error..
Amen, Sleepy!

for those who have left the organization, have any of you gone to another church?
or did being a jw simply turn you off religion altogether.
i feel i would like to still belong to a religious group (that's just in my personality) but of course, i would feel really guilty at first going in to "babylon the great".
I went to a little non-demonational church for about a year with my wife, who is a christain. It was interesting to meet the people and observe the way they felt about God. It was more of a social structure than any thing else. There were little groups who wanted to control the activities of the church and they finally left along with the pastor. We quit going when my wife saw through the whole social cliques deal. I went just to satisfy her and observe first hand what church was like. I don't think any religious group has any idea of what God really is.

i just became a greatgranfather.
it is a perfectly healthy boy, and also beautiful.
when you see a new born baby it makes you think about how all this life came about even more.
Hi All,
I just became a greatgranfather. It is a perfectly healthy boy, and also beautiful. When you see a new born baby it makes you think about how all this life came about even more. If there is a God who made all this, why couldn't he communicate with us except by some old man that we never saw or knew who supposedly wrote it down thousands of years ago and his words are usually explained to mean something different from what he said by those who claim God's inspiration. Mankind needs a positive word fom God that could not be mistaken as just some human's idea of what God expects of us. I have prayed with tears asking to know him, but so far I have no answer.
How did I get off on that subject, anyway he was 8#s 4oz. It looked so sweet to see my grandson holding him. He insisted that I hold him, I'm a little nervous holding a newborn, but it was great. I can't believe I'm getting that old. I'll post a picture soon.

Hi All,
I didn't know it but yesterday was Grandparents day. Today my grandaughter brought us a gift from her and her sister and two brothers. That was so thoughtful. The card had a note from each of them, even the 18 month old Emily( a bunch random lines). There was candy, and a $10 bill for each of us, (my wife and I.) It gives you a good feeling to know they really love us. My step-daughter and her kids are very special to me. She has a heart of gold and you can feel the love she has for us. She often expresses it in words too. We're lucky people.
