  I WENT TO CHURCH THIS MORNING....

  after the distastful and depression memorial at the kingdom hall last wednesday night, i guess i just felt the need to go somewhere else this morning for easter so i drove around.......i was going to go to the presbyterian church but the service wasn't untill 11:00am....ditto for the lutheran and united churches too, so i ended up going to the catholic church (of all places!

  ) because the service started at 9:30am.

  never been to a catholic service before, (except for one wedding and one funeral years ago).

  You are so right, old Gumball,

  you'll see dub similarities all over the place.....but that's just me.

  That isn't just you, I went with my wife to a non-denom church for about a year and I saw some of the same attitudes and stuff there too. Not cultish though, and they did help out others in need. Religion just isn't in my life anymore, I mean in my heart, it's still everywhere around me. Faith to me is just the same as believing in Santa, it's all in the imagination of the brain. When something happens as a result of spirit intervention maybe I will finally consider it again.

  i remember one time i went with a bunch of jw's out to a chinese restaurant and at the end of the meal; i opened up my fortune cookie and read it.

  this one pioneer sister went all over me for doing that; saying i could stumble someone, blah, blah, blah.

  Things sure have changed since I was a little JW back in the 40s. We even had an Ouija board, Halloween mask, and gave a few Christmas gifts at school. We should have been Dfed.

  in the new testament paul writes letters to congregations.. corinthians, ephesians etc.. .

  were these congregations jewish?

  had the catholic church been founded yet?

  Where did the first Sin happen?

  as far as i'm concerned, the first sin occured in heaven, when satan rebelled against god, not in the garden of eden.. god knowing this, shouldn't he have warned adam and eve that satan would tempt them.

  since in revelation 12:12 it's written: .

  woe for the earth and for the sea, because the devil has come down to you.

  Hi Gumby,

  It's been 33 years since I've read the bible much and I've forgotten all the WT lessions I studied. I can't even explain the book of Daniel and Revelation anymore.

  i hope i don't go too long with this.... last night my wife and i were talking about her day in service.

  we talked about several things of little consequence and then i made mention of a point out of the reasoning book to underscore the importance of our need to be well versed in the facts that support our beliefs.

  said point is on 416 of the rs book.

  Women are not easy to understand by men. They usually use more emotion than thinking on something like this. It's sort of like this joke I heard.

  This man had been a very good person, done good deeds for so many people that God approached him and said that he could have one wish. He said he wanted a road built to Hawaii, so he could drive there. God said that was a little too much to ask for, think of something else. He thought a minute and asked that he wanted to understand women and what they thought.

  God replied, do you want two lanes or four lanes.

  Ok you women posters, I'm ready for your blasting.

  i realize that i'm new, and he is under age, but i just shared richie's story with my friday night happy hour mates.

  it's funny how the rest of humanity can see the absurdity of his situation, but "god's" organization cannot.

  so many of my friends are not part of their parents religion.

  Being in NC myself I can understand the pollen problem. I washed my cars yesterday and this morning they were yellow again from the pollen. It doesn't bother me much, just a sneeze or two, now and then. Hope your problems work out for the better. I wish I was 17 again and could work through them all one more time, well maybe not, I had it too good the first time.

  Who would have the "Upper Hand" an Elder or a leader of another Religion?

  lets say an elder that knows his bible very well, and a priest or any high ranking person of any other christian religion who also knows his bible very well, would get together and each with a bible in their hand.....who would come out victorious?.

  The bible is so mystical in so many of it's passages that in order to try to understand it you have to form your own view of it's meaning. It also contradicts itself many times and changes it's commands from one book to another. There is no way to get facts that can't be challenged from the bible, if you have the knowledge to find them.

  Why are they so manipulated brainwashed by the WTS?

  Because they are told to read only the publications of the WTS because God appointed them the Faithful and Discrete Slave to feed them all the BS they need to know.
