  My brain worked yesterday at the WT study

  so paragraph 11-13 yesterday discussed how lepers in jesus' day were outcasts.

  they were required to call out "leper, leper" so people would stay away from them.

  the next paragraph says that according to rabbinical sources, a religious leader even threw rocks at a leper to keep him away.

  God sure makes forgiving human's inherited sin complicated. We were born this way because God chose to make us this way. He chose to take another creature he created and cause him all that misery so he could use him as a sacrifice, like the pagans were doing to their mentally created Gods.

  Evidently he doesn't like humans he made because he is going to change them into spirits if they believe all that stuff he had written in a book about a man that was born from a woman he got pregnant a few thousand years ago. (There are so many versions of what it says and means by religions that you don't know which one to listen too.) I guess I will burn in hell forever because I just can't seem to get it.

  anyways, my question is this... how do you pray?

  There are probably 10,000,000 prayers being prayed at any given time, so maybe it wasn't your turn for him to listen right then.

  Is anyone left at Bethel who knew Judge Rutherford?

  does any of our former bethel workers know if there is anyone still at bethel (brooklyn) that personally knew judge rutherford?.

  rutheford died in 1942, so there is a very real possibility that there is now no one around who knew the man.. as for charles taze russell, he died in 1916 and so there is no one still alive who knew him, let alone even met him!

  even a baby born in 1916 would be 92 years old today!.

  I remember seeing him in Martinsville Va, I think it was there. All I can remember is his attitude when he was speaking at the assembly. I was about 5 years old.

  markets, courthouses, street corners, gas stations, town centers, and.

  at their front door, to mention only a few places you'll find a witness.. .

  I just visited my cousin who has cancer. She has never been an active witness since she married a worldly person when she was 16. She always believed the "truth" though and her mother was a special pioneer untill she died a year ago. She is handling the fact that she will not live more than a couple of years very well. She believes she will be resurrected and see her mother and other JW relatives she loved. She is 70 now. She has lived a very good life with her worldly husband and has travelled all over the US and other countries. They have an RV about 40 feet long and lived in Florida in the winter in it. They have a beautiful home and two sons and several grandkids who are not JWs.

  We were very close when young and I hate to see her die and am glad she has hope in something that gives her comfort. Religion can give you some help in times like this. It's no always bad. I'll try to not destroy her hope by debunking the "truth" when I visit her.

  UFO's, can so many sightings be all wrong, or lies?

  i was out hiking in the woods of northern california in the late 80's with a good friend.

  at that time, i thought it was cool to just sleep under the stars and enjoy the outdoor experience to the full.

  one night, while camping at a lake that was far up in the mountains and had no one else there, but the two of us (was not a broke back mountain moment, sorry to those who might have wondered .

  My best friend from youth and a friend were walking out in the country where he lives and they both saw a large object with lights around the out side going over them in the sky. It looked about the size of a football field and went very slowly, quitely and just went out of site over the trees. They have no explaination of what it was. My wife has seen something come from in the sky and land in a field while they were driving, they turned around and went back to see what it was and it was gone. I wish I could see one.

  I was there. I was 22 years old and had been married for a year to a girl I had met there when I attended a few years before. She was from New Mexico the first time I met her. I really enjoyed going to those assemblies back then, well maybe some of them when I didn't work in some department, like cleaning. Her name was Jimmylene Pardue. Haven't heard from her in over thirty years, she divorced me back in 1973.

  The Loyalty Question

  how many here have been asked the loyalty question by an elder.

  i am referring to, "do you believe that jehovah is using the faithful and discreet slave class to accomplish his work?

  " or something along this line?.

  I ask them questions like, can we be assured that the end is comming when ever the WTS says it will? Then give a few dates that the oldtimers supported that didn't happen.

  Then ask questions about your heart condition that God is going to judge you by. What determines your heart condition, DNA, upbringing, what you have expierenced in life, a personal decision or what?

  Gets them thinking.

  i was in my pajamas so i didn't invite her in.

  Mustang, thanks for the info. I had never thought of that before. I was dunked twice, once when I was about 6 years old and another at about 25, can't remember the exact year. Never vowed to be a WT slave either time.

  Religion just seems a way to help calm the questions we have about the universe and what life really is about. I just can't seem to accept the bibles view of God and life as we live it. I just don't know what to believe about death. Do any of your think that this life is all there is? Who has any evidence of God other than nature? He hasn't shown up since the bible talks about him. Why doesn't he give us something to prove he exist? The bible just says we must have faith, but what is faith other than believing something we can't prove is real? It's easy to see why so many people in times past just believed in a rock or an image of something they could see.

  Is it all in our minds or do we have some spirit or soul? I guess I will know when I die or won't ever know.
